How Do We Combine Between The Statements Of Allaah?

How Do We Combine Between The Statements Of Allaah?

for everyone

"Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allâh! With Him is a great reward (Paradise)." (at-Taghaabun/15).

"Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds (five compulsory prayers, deeds of Allâh's obedience, good and nice talk, remembrance of Allâh with glorification, praises and thanks, etc.), that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope" (al-Kahf/46)

The noble Shaykh Yahyaa al-Hajooree (May Allaah preserve him) answered:

" This is beauty also, and there's no doubt that in this there's beauty and there can also be a trial in it for the person (by way of it) busying (ones attention) away from the remembrance of Allaah. This is the greatest trial. Allaah has said:

"O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allâh. And whosoever does that, then they are the loser" (al-Munaafiqoon/9)

It is a tremendous loss that you are diverted away from the remembrance of Allaah, the prayer, the pilgrimage, and the (other) acts of worship because of the child.

The child is one who causes one to be stingy and cowardly. Therefore because of this be aware of this child which Allaah has provided you with in order that the child doesn't become a trial for you, rather the child will be a blessing upon in the (affair) of obedience to Allaah. As for if the child is a trial upon you (and diverts you away from the remembrance of Allaah...) then verily you are a loser just as the Qur'aan has stated.

It's a must that one take the caution regarding this matter. It is possible that when Allaah provides a person with a child, the child busies the person him from the fulfillment of  obligations. When the child busies the person from the fulfillment of  obligations and the person gives precedence to the love of the child over the obedience to Allaah this love becomes an act of disobedience."
