Water is the Best Charity

ما هو أعظم من غيره في الأجر، و قد ذكر النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم منيحة الشاة (صحيح البخاري).١ 

(After laa ilaha illa Allah), what is the greatest in terms of reward in other than it, the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam mentioned the sheep that gives milk (Sahih Al-Bukhari). 

و ورد أيضا في الصدقة بالماء أنه أعظم أجرا من غيره؛ فعن سعيد: "أن سعدا أتى النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم فقال: أي الصدقة أعجب إليك؟ قال: الماء" (حسنه الألباني في صحيح أبي داود). ٢

And it is also mentioned that the charity with the water, that it is the greatest in terms of reward from other than it; it is reported from Saeed radi Allahu anhu that Saad came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam and said: Which charity pleases you? He sallallahu alayhe wa salalm said: The water" (Shaykh Albanee graded it Hasan in Sahih Abi Dawud).

و عن سعد بن عبادة أنه قال: "يا رسول الله، أن أم سعد ماتت، فأي الصدقة أفضل؟ قال: الماء. قال: فحفر بئرا، و قال: هذه لأم سعد" (قال الألباني في صحيح الترغيب و الترهيب: حسن لغيره). ٣

And it is also reported from Saad bin Ubaadah that he said: "O Messenger of Allah, the Umm Saad passed away, so which charity is the best? He sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said: The water. He (Saad bin Ubaadah) said: So, he dug a well, and said: This is for Umm Saad" (Shaykh Albanee said in Sahih At-Targeeb wat-Tarheeb: Hasan due to other than it).
