General Q&A with Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan [on Manhaj &..] | by Nasrin for everyone |
General Q&A with Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan
Question One: May Allah reward you Shaykh, what is your opinion of the one who says that what is meant in the Quranic verse by Uool al-Amr (those in charge of running the affairs of the country) are the ‘Ulamaa (the scholars) and not the Umaraa (the Muslim rulers)? The Shaykh’s answer: This is wrong because the entire verse includes both the ‘Ulamaa and the Umaraa. This is what is correct. Both of them are called Uool al-Amr (those in charge of running the affairs of the country).
Question Two: Are those Muslim who go to the fortune tellers and palm readers labeled with committing Kufr Akbar and treated as those who have left Islam?
The Shaykh’s answer: We say what the Messenger, peace be upon him, said: (Who ever goes to a palm reader or a fortune teller and affirms what they tell them then they have disbelieved in what is revealed to Muhammad.)
Question Three: The questioner asks, what is your reply to the ideology that is taught in the schools that all matter never perishes nor did it come about from nothing despite that Allah is the Originator of the heavens and the earth?
The Shaykh’s answer: This is the words of the people of nature and science, those who speak about nature and do not affirm that there is a creator. The truth is that everything exists from nothingness and will perish after its existence except for Allah, the Glorified the Most High. He has no beginning and no end: {Everything will perish and the only thing that will remain is the face of your Lord, the Possessor of Glory and Nobility.} ar-Rahmaan: 26-27
Question Four: There are some brothers who ascribe to the Jamaa’at-ut-Tableegh. They always invite us to go out with them. They try to prove that they are upon the truth by using the fact that many non-Muslims and others throughout the world have been guided to accept Islam by their doing. What should we say to them?
The Shaykh’s answer: We should ask them, who are the ones that they have guided to Tawheed? Have any one of the non-Muslims, the innovators, or the grave worshipers that the Jamaa’at-ut-Tableegh have guided left off ash-Shirk (idolatry), repented to Allah from it, and come to know at-Tawheed? They advise the people to repent from sins but when it comes to ash-Shirk they never expose it or warn from it. Based on this the worshiping of tombs and graves has increased but they don’t expose it so what is the meaning of this?! What Da’wah are they calling to?! They advise the people to repent from sins and then enter them into the innovations that they traverse upon taken from their well-known methodology.
Question Five: What is the ruling of Salaat-ut-Tasbeeh?
The Shaykh’s answer: It has not been affirmed as being done by the Prophet, peace be upon him rather the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: (Whoever does an act that is not from Islam then it will be rejected.) And it still has never been affirmed (as an act from him). Therefore it is not permissible to do. Also it has some weird aspects in how it is performed. The Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade the recitation of the Quran in bowing and prostration yet the recitation of the Quran is done in it while one is bowing or in prostration. It has descriptions that oppose the legislated prayers which indicate that there is no basis for it so the one who wants to perform good deeds then there are the legislated prayers. Brothers pray Salaat-ud-Duhaa, pray Salaat-ul-Layl, pray Witr, pray the voluntary prayers with the obligatory ones, the door is wide open.

Who is ad-Da’wah obligatory upon? | by Nasrin for everyone |
Who is ad-Da’wah obligatory upon?
“It is an obligation that must be observed by all who are able to fulfill it such as the scholars, the Muslim rulers, and the callers who call to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic until the message (of Islam) is conveyed to the world efficiently throughout all of the inhabited areas in the language of the people (being called). This is the conveyance that Allah commanded with, the Glorified and Most High says to His Prophet: {O Messenger convey what has been revealed to you by your Lord.} al-Maa’idah: 67So the Messenger, peace be upon him, was tasked with conveying (the message of Islam) and likewise all of the previous Messengers, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon them. It was also obligatory for the Messengers to convey (this message). The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: (Convey what I relate to you even if it is only one verse.) Whenever he preached to the people he would say: (Let the one who is present convey what he hears to the one who was absent maybe the one who the message is conveyed to will perceive it better than the one who heard it.)
Therefore it is obligatory upon all of the Muslim rulers, the scholars, the business men, and others to convey what Allah and His Messenger, peace be upon him, said. This is the religion and it should be explained to the people in the everyday languages that the people use.”

Guilty by AssociationIt is reported that Imâm Al-Awzâ’î – Allâh have mercy on him – used to say:
Whoever hides his heresy (bid’ah) from us, his companionship is not hidden from us.
Ibn Battah, Al-Ibânah Al-Kubrâ article 420.
It is reported that when Sufyân Al-Thawrî – Allâh have mercy on him – came to Basrah he started to look into the matter of Al-Rabî’ – i.e. Ibn Sabîh
(1) – and his status amongst the people. [Sufyân] asked, “What does he believe?” [People] replied, “He believes in nothing but the Sunnah.” He asked, “Who are his companions?” They replied, “The People of Qadr (those who denied Allâh’s pre-decree).” He said, “Then he is a Qadarî (like them).”
Ibid. article 421.
(1) Al-Rabî’ b. Sabîh is described in biographies as being a truthful reporter, but with a bad memory; a devout worshipper and a mujâhid.
It is reported that Al-Fudayl b. ‘Ayyâd – Allâh have mercy on him – said:
The souls [of people] are in groups gathered together: those of them that identify with each other come together, and those that are different diverge. It is not possible for an adherent of the Sunnah to incline towards an adherent of Bid’ah except out of hypocrisy (nifâq).

Troubled Times [corrupt scholars]
Mâlik b. Dînâr – Allâh have mercy on him – once said:Verily you are in greatly troubled times. Only one with true insight knows the times you live in. Verily you are in a time of [people] boasting and being proud. [1] Their tongues are swollen in their mouths, and they seek worldly gain through the deeds of the hereafter. So be warned against them for yourselves, lest they catch you in their nets. O scholar, you are a scholar yet you devour [wealth] with your knowledge. O scholar, you are a scholar yet you boast with your knowledge. O scholar, you are a scholar yet you seek to amass [wealth] with your knowledge. O scholar, you are a scholar yet you transgress [against others] with your knowledge. If you had truly sought this knowledge for Allâh, it would have been seen on you and in your deeds.
[1] The word in some reports is tafâkhur (boasting and being proud) but in some other versions, other somewhat ambiguous words are found in its place.

2005 – ‘Indeed there people who read the Qur’aan, but it does not go pass their throats, they leave Islaam just like the arrow leaves the prey.’ Collected by ad-Darmi
From ‘Amroo bin Salamah: We were sitting by the door of Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood before lunch, so that if he came out, we could walk with him to the Masjid. Abu Moosaa al-Ash’aree came and said: Has Abu Abdur-Rahmaan come out yet? We said: No. So, he sat down with us, waiting for him to come out, and when he came out, we all gathered towards him, and Abu Moosaa said: ‘O Abu Abdur-Rahmaan! Previously I saw something in the Masjid which I disliked. But, Alhamdulillaah, what I saw, was nothing but good.’ He said: What was it? Abu Moosaa said, ‘If you live, you will see it.’ Then Abu Moosaa said, ‘I saw a group of people, sitting in circles waiting for the prayer. In every circle there was a man and in their hands were small stones and he would say: ‘Say Allaahu Akbar 100 times’ and they would say ‘Allaahu Akbar’ 100 times. Then, he would say, ‘Say laa ilaha ilAllaah 100 times’ and they would say ‘laa ilaha ilAllaah’ 100 times and he would say, ‘Say SubhaanAllaah’ 100 times and they would say ‘SubhaanAllaah’ 100 times.’
Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood said, ‘So what did you say to them?’ He said: ‘I did not say anything to them, rather I waited for your opinion [or ‘I waited for your command’].’ He said: ‘Why did you not command them to count their bad deeds [i.e. seek forgiveness from your deeds] and guarantee them that their good deeds would not be lost?!’ Then he walked and we walked with him until he reached one of those circles and he stood there and said, ‘What is this that I see you doing?’ They said: ‘O Abu Abdur-Rahmaan! These are nothing but small stones with which we are counting, saying ‘Allaahu Akbar, laa ilaaha illAllaah and SubhaanAllaah.’ He said, ‘Count your sins; I guarantee that you will not lose anything of your good deeds!
Beware, O Ummah of Muhammad! How quick you are to your destruction! Here we are, the Companions of your Prophet – abundant, everywhere and here is his clothing which has not been [wasted away] and his utensils have not been broken. I swear by Him in Whose Hand is my soul, either you are an Ummah more rightly-guided than the Ummah of Muhammad or you are opening the door of misguidance.’
They said; ‘We swear by Allaah, O Abu Abdur-Rahmaan, we did not intend anything but good.’ He said: ‘How many people intend good but never achieve it. Verily the Messenger of Allaah – narrated to us, ‘Indeed there will be a people who read the Qur’aan but it does not pass beyond their throats.’ I swear by Allaah, I do not know. Perhaps most of them are from amongst you.’ Then he went away. ‘Amroo bin Salamah said, ‘We saw some of those sitting in those circles fighting on the Day of Nahrawaan, along with the Khawaarij.’
Shaykh al-Albaani mentions in the Takreej (research) of the above narration: ‘Indeed there is a lesson to be learnt from this narration, for those who follow Sufi paths and Dhikr gatherings which are against the Sunnah. When someone forbids an evil action that they perform they accuse him of forbidding Dhikr from its very foundation! This is Kufr which no Muslim in this world should fall into; the evil action which they adhere to, from those forms of Dhikr and gatherings which, were not legislated at the time of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-, otherwise why would Ibn Masood -Radi Allaahu anhu- disapprove of those who were sitting in their gatherings?
Is it not, a gathering done on a specific day, and doing an amount of Dhikr which is not indicated by the Sharia’ but is listed by the Shaykh of the gathering, and he commands them with the amount of Dhikr that they should do from himself, as if he is a legislator on behalf of Allaah Ta’ala! << Or do they have partners with Allaah, who have instituted for them a religion which Allaah has not allowed. >>
To add to this, the Sunnah which is established by the Messenger -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- verbally and practically is to perform the Tasbeeh (remembrance of Allaah) on your fingertips, as it is clear in ‘The refutation against al-Habshee’ and in other places. From the benefits which can be reaped from the hadeeth and this story is; that the importance is not of performing a large amount of worship, but rather, is it according to the Sunnah and far away from Bida’.
Ibn Masood -Radi Allaahu anhu- also indicated to this point in his saying: ‘sticking to the Sunnah is better than striving in Bida’.’ And another benefit is: that a small Bida’ leads to a greater Bida’. Do you not see that those people from these gatherings afterwards became from the Khawaarij who were killed by the rightly guided Khalifah ‘Alee bin Abu Taalib? So is there anyone who will take heed?!’

Concerning the Claim: Salafiyyah is not from Islaam | by Nasrin for everyone |
Monday, 20 April 2009 | |
Answered by the Noble Shaykh, Dr. Saalih Ibn Fawzaan al-FawzaanShaykh al-Fawzaan refutes Al Areefi's claim that 'salafiyyah is not from Islam' defending it (salafiyyah) as the Manhaj (methodology) of truth and that we proceed upon it and we leave those who oppose it.
The virtuous Doctor, Shaykh Saalih Bin Fawzaan al Fawzaan, who is of the members of the major scholars refuted what was published in (Ukaadh) surrounding a guest article by the Da'ee, Ash-Shaykh Muhammad al 'Areefi.. and the refutation of Dr. Fawzaan was upon the first Halqah (section) which was entitled: "Salafee, Tableeghee, Ikhwaanee: names that are not from Islaam"and the following is the refutation (of this) from the virtuous Shaykh: Alhamdulillaah and I proceed: I read the Ukaadh magazine on Sunday 28 Rabee' Uth Thanee 1426 number 14162, an evil title of which I spoke about to with some of the virtuous scholars and it is: Salafee, Tableeghee are names that are not from Islaam. I was amazed how the author added that Salafiyyah is not from Islam when it means following the way of the Salafus-Saalih from the Sahaabah and the Tabi'een and the preferred generations and Allaah has said: "And those who preceeded from the emigrants and the helpers and those who follow them in goodness Allaah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Allah..." And Allah said about the Sahaabah: "Verily, those who believed, and emigrated and strove hard and fought with their property and their lives in the Cause of Allaah as well as those who gave (them) asylum and help, - these are (all) allies to one another." Until Allaah may he be glorified said: "And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you, (in the Cause of Allaah) they are of you." And Allah said in Soorah Hashr: "(And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking Bounties from Allaah and to please Him. And helping Allaah (i.e. helping His religion) and His Messenger (Muhammad sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam). Such are indeed the truthful (to what they say);-And those who, before them, had homes (in Al-Madinah) and had adopted the Faith, love those who emigrate to them. Until Allah said: And those after them who said our Lord forgive us and our brothers who came before in faith." And the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: This Ummah will seperate into 73 different groups all of them are in the fire except one. They asked who are they 'O Messenger of Allah. He said: Whomsoever is upon what I am upon and my companions. And he said: "Upon you is my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Caliphs after me." Then Salafiyyah is the methodology of truth which is compulsory for us to proceed upon and to leave what opposes it from the other methodologies and its people. And their people (the Salafees) are from the saved sect, Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jama'ah and they are the aided group until the day of judgment, may Allaah make us from them. And (Shaykh) Fawzaan pointed out that when one ascribes to this Manhaj he needs to know the principles so the Muslim would hold onto it and he needs to know the methodologies that oppose it until he leaves them off. For holding unto Salafiyyah is upon knowledge and insight. And it is not enough to ascribe oneself to it from ignorance or opposition because Allaah said: "And those who followed them in goodness." Meaning goodness in knowledge and goodness in obidience without going to extremes or being too lenient... like those who who ascribe themselves to the Madhabs of the four Imams: Abu Haneefah, Maalik, Ash Shafi'ee and Ahmad and they oppose their methodology in belief and worship. And also the one who ascribes himself to the methodology of the Salaf and he calls a Muslim a non Muslim or opposes the Muslim rulers or goes into a direction of extremism he is not a Salafee rather he is called a Kharijee or Mu'tazilee. And like this is the one who ascribes himself to the way of the Salaf and he says the statement of the Murji'ah in the issues of belief and disbelief, (then) he is not Salafee. Therefore it is compulsory to pay attention to this issue and to not mix the methodology of the Salaf with other Methodologies that go against it. And it is said that these (other methodologies) are all not from Islam because of their nonsensical statements and oppression in making rulings and covering the truth with falsehood for the people. Fatwas only by senior scholars | by Nasrin for everyone |
Fatwas only by senior scholars
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has issued a royal order saying only approved scholars can issue fatwas (religious edicts).
"As part of our religious and national duty we want you to ensure that fatwas are only issued by members of the Council of Senior Religious Scholars and other permitted people," King Abdullah said in the decree that was sent Thursday to Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, who heads the Presidency for Scholastic Research and Religious Edicts (Dar Al-Ifta) as well as the scholars council.
The decree also asked Al-Asheikh to report to the king on those fully qualified and eligible to issue fatwas.
"Individual fatwas on personal matters such as matters of worship, dealings, personal matters are exempt from this ruling, but they should be between the questioner and the scholar. There should be a total ban on any topics involving strange or obsolete views."
The king said the issuing of fatwas by unqualified persons was a violation of Islamic teachings.
"We have observed the fallout from unqualified people issuing fatwas. It is our religious duty to stop them in order to preserve our religion, which is our dearest possession, and cut off an evil which, if we do not tackle now, will return with added force." the king added in the decree.
"Religion is no place for bragging nor seeking worldly ambitions."
The king said differences of opinion among scholars should be confined to their own circles and not involve other people.
"We find some people undermining the role of official establishments and crossing into state jurisdiction. They pose as eligible scholars to dispute these religious establishments," he added.
"This situation has prompted us to face them with determination in order to return them to the right path and make them understand the great role played by our religious establishments."
Islamic Affairs Minister Saleh Al-Asheikh had warned earlier that many fatwas issued by individuals recently had lacked balance.
They include giving permission to kill men and women who share workspaces or, more bizarrely, allowing them to work together if a woman breastfeeds her male colleagues.
"They should not publish fatwas before consulting other experts," he said.
The minister also told members of the public to only ask for fatwas from authentic sources, including Dar Al-Ifta.
He said he had noticed scholars issuing fatwas on silly issues.
"This will give a bad impression about the Kingdom, especially with it being an Islamic state. We have so many other important issues to deal with. We have to confront terrorism and the false allegations people make connecting Islam and its Prophet (peace be upon him) with terrorism," he said.
Other fatwas, including giving permission for women to travel without a legal guardian, allowing men to pray at home instead of going to mosque and allowing people to celebrate birthdays have triggered heated debates among religious scholars.
A number of leading sheikhs welcomed King Abdullah's decision.
Sheikh Abdullah Al-Muslih, who hosts a fatwa program on a religious channel, said major issues requiring a fatwa should remain in the hands of top scholars.
However, he added that personal matters such as how to pray, perform ablution or pay zakah were considered as educating the public and therefore exempt from the decree.
Sheikh Saleh Al-Shamrani, a teacher at the Scholarly Institute for Islamic Studies, also agreed with the king's decree and said it would curb outlandish fatwas during Ramadan.
"Lately, some people have had the nerve to issue random fatwas. Some of them have little religious education, while others claim they are scholars. It is time to return fatwas to qualified people who are fit to issue them," he said.
"We have waited for this decision, especially as religious channels host people belonging to different intellectual schools of thought and the public might see their beliefs as the truth."
Shaikh Abdul Muhsin Al-Obaikan, an adviser to the Royal Council who recently called for a minimum marriage age for girls, refused to comment when contacted by Arab News.
.....
Only authorized Ulema allowed to issue fatwas
King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has issued a Royal Order that only the Board of Senior Ulema and those given special permission are allowed to issue fatwas or religious edicts.
In the Royal Decree issued Thursday, the King said this order excludes unannounced individual private fatwas on the “issues of rituals, dealings and personal matters”.
The Royal Decree banned tackling any subject that is considered of “strange views or obsolete”.
The order said anyone violating this arrangement will be punished. The order was meant to “glorify Allah’s religion and purify it from anything that may adulterate it by those who do not have the necessary knowledge to handle purely jurisprudential issues”.
It was to prevent fatwas being issued by people who want to “create rifts among Muslims”.
“We have been carefully following this matter and have detected encroachments and excessiveness which we cannot allow and tolerate,” the Royal Order said.
The order was issued to the Kingdom’s Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Administration of Religious Research, Ifta and Chairman of the Board of Senior Ulema. Others who received copies of the order include Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister; the ministers of Islamic Affairs, Dawa “Islamic Call” and Guidance; Higher Education; Justice; and Culture and Information. Copies were also sent to the General President of the Affairs of the Holy Haram and Prophet’s Mosque; and the Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council. – SPA
Regarding the one who doesn't accept the ruling of the scholars in their refutation | by Nasrin for everyone |
Q. What is your statement (may Allaah preserve you) regarding the one who doesn't accept the ruling of the scholars in their refutation against some of those who have opposed the salafi methodology, and they also reject the scholars' ruling of that which removes the person from the realm of as-Salafiyyah against the individual.
This is so even though the scholars mention that which is transmitted from the person's statements which are an indication of the person's deviance and them mentioning clear evidences which condemn and refute him. The person (in question) says after the debate and clarification being made: "I'm not convinced with the evidences that you have mention". How do we deal with this type of individual and what ruling do we apply to him?
A. My statement regarding the one who rejects the ruling of the scholars who refute those who oppose the salafi methodology is that he is arrogant based upon the statement of the Prophet:
" الكبر بطر الحق وغمط الناس "
"Arrogance is the rejection of the truth and looking down upon the people"
Therefore the person will be considered arrogant because the ruling of the scholars who traverse upon the path of the righteous predecessors in the matter of creed and legislation is the truth. No one rejects the truth except for the one who is a wrongdoer. This is especially the case when the person who is rejecting the ruling of the scholars knows that the one who is in opposition to the methodology of the salaf is one who deviates away from the truth.
There is no doubt with me that the one who does that is one who is (to be) attributed/connected to the people of innovation because of his defense of them and not being pleased with those who have refuted their innovation and misguidance. That is because with the refutation of the one who is in opposition to the methodology of the truth the falsehood of the person becomes clear. It grieves the people of desires and their supporters that their falsehood becomes clear and therefore the people disperse from around them and hate that which they are upon of falsehood which they (the people of desires) have beautified for some of the people who in-turn followed them upon it (i.e. the falsehood).
Added to his evil mistake and his following of the liars, if he is debated by the people of knowledge and condemned/judged he responds by saying that he's not convinced by the evidences (that have been presented). This is called amongst the common folk "an excuse is (sometimes) worst than an action"
As for how do we interact with him, he is to be attributed/connected to the people of innovation with regards to him being boycotted, warned against, and argumentation being abandoned with him. This is just as (we find) in the guidance of the salaf with regards to its adversaries in the time that has past and its present.

Q: What is the ruling on reading the Bible? | by Nasrin for everyone |
Q: What is the ruling on reading the Bible?A: The Divine Books revealed before the Qur’an now include many distortions, alterations, and omissions, as Allah says in the Qur’an.
Therefore, it is not permissible for Muslims to read any of these Books, unless they have deep-rooted knowledge of the Din (religion) and want to explain the distortions and inconsistencies in these books.
May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!

Q: What is the ruling on a Muslim who reads the Bible or swears by it?
A: It is not permissible for a Muslim to read the Bible as it has almost entirely undergone interpolation. Even the parts of the Bible that have undergone no interpolation are needless as the Qur’an replaces them. This ruling is not applicable to scholars who need to read it in order to refute the claims of the People of the Book.
It is not permissible either to swear by the Bible in its present form as it has undergone partial interpolation and distortion, and thus cannot be the words of Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted).

Ruling on Reading the Tawrah and the Injil by Shaykh Ibn Baz rahimahullah
Q – Is it permissible for me as a Muslim to leaf through the Injil (Gospel) and read in it, just to have a look, and not for any other purpose? Does believing in the Divine Books mean believing in their being revealed by Allah or believing in their content? Please enlighten me, may Allah enlighten you!
A: Every Muslim should believe that these books: the Tawrah (Torah), the Injil (Gospel), and the Zabur (Psalms), were revealed by Allah, and that Allah revealed them to His Prophets. Included in these Books were: commands, prohibitions, admonitions, warnings, stories of ancient events, information on Paradise and Hell, and other matters. However, Muslims should not use these books as they have been distorted and altered, and they should not own copies of them, or read in them. They pose a danger in that they may lead Muslims to deny a truth or believe in a falsehood, because they have been distorted, altered, and falsified by the Jews, the Christians and others; whereas Allah has made us stand in no need of them, by the great Book He revealed: the Noble Qurýan.
It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saw a portion of the Tawrah in the hands of “Umar, so he became angry and said: Are you confused about it, O Ibn Al-Khattab? By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, I brought it to you white and pure. And he added, ”By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, if Musa (Moses) were alive, he could not but follow me. ‘
We just want to advise you, and others, not to take anything from the Tawrah, the Injil, and the Zabur, not to acquire copies of them, and not to read in them.
Rather, if you have any of them, bury or burn it, because the truth that was in them has been given, instead, in the Qurýan; they are now so mixed with changes and distortions, which are all condemned and false. Therefore, the believer must be on his guard against this, and beware of reading these books for they may lead to belief in a falsehood or denial of a truth. To be safe, it is better to just dispose of these books, either by burying or burning them.
Knowledgeable Muslim scholars are permitted to look at these books to refute the allegations of the opponents of Islam from among the Jews and the Christians. This was what the Prophet (peace be upon him) did when the Jews denied that stoning of adulterers was the punishment prescribed in the Tawrah, so he asked for a copy of the Tawrah until they finally acknowledged it.
The reason for this is that the scholars, who are knowledgeable about the Shariýah (Islamic law), may need to read the Tawrah, the Injil, and the Zabur for the sake of Islam, to refute allegations from the opponents of Allah and show the merits of the Qurýan and the truth and guidance it contains. As for ordinary people, they do not need to do this. So, if they have any of these books, they should bury them in a pure place or burn them to avoid misleading anyone through them.
Nur ‘Ala Al-Darb Fatwa
Q: Is it permissible for Muslims to read the Injil (Gospel) to know how far it is distorted?
A: It is not permissible for a believer to read the Tawrah (Torah) and Injil, even though they were distorted and changed and Allah (may He be Glorified) has given Muslims what is best, which is the Noble Qur’an that has been preserved from any change or distortion. Moreover, the Shari`ah (Islamic law) has abrogated all other earlier laws, and it is the perfect, the greatest, and the most useful to the Servants of Allah. Allah (may He be Exalted) states:Surah Al-Ma’idah, 5: 3 This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islým as your religion.
Allah (may He be Glorified) addressed His Prophet (peace be upon him) stating:Surah Al-Jathiyah, 45: 18 Then We have put you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) on a (plain) way of (Our) commandment [like the one which We commanded Our Messengers before you (i.e. legal ways and laws of the Islýmic Monotheism)]. So follow you that (Islýmic Monotheism and its laws), and follow not the desires of those who know not. (Tafsir At-Tabarý). It was authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he saw `Umar ibn Al-Khattab holding some pages of the Tawrah. He, thus, became angry and said: Are you doubtful regarding it (Islam) O Ibn Al-Khattab? By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I have brought it to you plain and pure… By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if Musa (Moses) was alive he would have followed me. (Related by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad (Hadith compilation)).
We, thus, advise you to increase your recitation of the Qur’an, take care of it, and act according to its teachings, for it will definitely suffice you from reading the earlier books revealed by Allah.
May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!

Is Abu Haneefah from the murji'ah? | by Nasrin for everyone |
Is Abu Haneefah from the murji'ah? |
Question: Esteemed shaykh, may Allaah grant you tawfeeq, is it the case that Imaam Abu Haneefah (rahimahullaah) did not enter actions into (the definition of) eemaan? And is he to be considered from the fuqahaa al murji'ah (the murji'ah scholars) – and if this is actually correct, then how do we make an excuse for this Imaam? |
Answer: Yes, Abu Haneefah and his shaykh, Hammaad ibn Abee Sulaymaan both made this statement – that eemaan comprises speech upon the tongue and belief in the heart, and that actions of the limbs do not enter into it. And this is irjaa, without doubt. For this reason they call them ‘murji'at ul fuqahaa’ and ‘the murjiah of ahl us sunnah’. They are from ahl us Sunnah but this slight mistake occurred from them; and it is a mistake, without doubt. We do not accept the mistake from any single person, not from Abu Haneefah (rahimahullaah) nor from anyone other than him because our goal is what is correct and attainment of the Truth. And this does not decrease Imaam Abu Haneefah’s status with us. |

what is your advice to some of the students of knowledge who verbally abuse the scholars | by Nasrin for everyone |
Question posed to the noble Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhalee (may Allaah preserve him).
Q. Oh noble Shaykh, what is your advice to some of the students of knowledge who verbally abuse the scholars who have outwardly made criticism upon the people of innovation. What is your advice for these individuals?
A.This is very strange that there are students of knowledge who defame the honor of the scholars who are diligent in reviving the Sunnah and eradicating innovation.
Those whom the questioner has mentioned as being students of knowledge, our advice which we direct to them is that they should ask the people of knowledge regarding the affairs that are problematic for them.
At the forefront of the people of knowledge whom it is upon them to ask is the permanent committee of scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It is also upon them to fear Allaah and not be taken by the blind following of the Khwaarij of this time. Also they should not be taken by the fiery emotions in a manner that's not proper and as a result of that fall into that which will bring about harm upon them in their religion and worldly affairs.
An example (for what i'm saying),if they (the students of knowledge) understand that so and so scholar has made a mistake in a matter, the best way (to address this matter) is that they call him. Allaah has made in this day and time the means of contact to be in an abundance and easy. They should call and say: "What did you intend (or mean) by that (which you said)? What is the evidence (for what you said)?".
This can be done with the condition that the questioner is one who is seeking the truth and benefit (not fit-nah). If that's done, the questioner will find (from the response of the scholar) that which will cure the ailment and quench the thirst.
As for him (the student/questioner) depending upon his own understanding, verbally abusing and attacking (the scholars)based upon his misunderstanding, this is from deviance and misguidance. We seek the protection with Allaah for them from the devils of mankind and the jinn over taking them, then (as a result of that) they persist upon their deviating from the truth and being staunch (upon that) aiding a newly invented methodology or a founder of (a deviant group) or any newly invented group.
The Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam)has directed (us) to asking the question (when we don't know). He said (what means): "Indeed the cure for ignorance is the question".
Therefore it is upon them (the students/those in question)to ask those whom they trust their knowledge.
I always direct the students (who are like) my children and colleagues to call the scholars regarding that which is problematic for them and present to them that which they want (to understand) and they will find a good solution inshaa Allaah (Allaah willing)
It is also upon them to make good their intentions in the matter of seeking knowledge, acting according to it, repelling that which is falsehood and refuting it. That is because the truth has more right to be followed and falsehood has more right to be avoided.
This is my advice for them. May Allaah give me and them the success to attain all of that which is good and keep us away from all of that which is a fit-nah and evil".

Shaykh Rabee' al-Madkhalee Declares 'Alee al-Halabee an Innovator | by Nasrin for everyone |
as salaam 'alaykum
The noble Shaykh, Ahmad Ibn 'Umar Baazmool was asked, "You mentioned, "So his ruling with regards to the manhaj of the Salaf is that he is a misguided innovator. This is the ruling. The ruling upon al-Halabee in conformity to the manhaj of the Salaf is that he is a misguided innovator."
So here is a request for clarification, O Shaykh!
So here is a request for clarification, O Shaykh!
So does this mean that you have declared al-Halabee an innovator and it is no longer just a warning against him???
wa jazaakumullaahu khayran."
Dr. Ahmad Ibn 'Umar Baazmool answered,
"So there is no ambiguity between the first and the second statement, my noble brother:
So the first statement affirms that al-Halabee fell into issues of opposition, the likes of which make it deserving upon the proponent of such issues to be declared an innovator. However, we do not proceed the Scholars, up until they issue their ruling upon the likes of him.
And the second: I clarified that al-Halabee, with regards to the manhaj of the Salaf and its application, is a misguided innovator. However, I have not declared him an innovator, as has proceeded. I was waiting for the speech of the Scholars and not proceeding them.
And now: I quote to you and to other than you from my Salafee brothers that the Shaykh, al-'Allaamah, the carrier of the flag of al-Jarh wat-Ta'deel has already made a statement about 'Alee Ibn Hasan al-Halabee and about Abee Manaar al-'Iraaqee, that they are both innovators and he said to the'Iraaqiyyeen: Quote this from me."

Shaykh Aboo 'Umar Usaamah al-'Utaybee commented,
"So Shaykh Rabee' - hafidhahullaah - is not alone in tabdee' of 'Alee al-Halabee - may Allaah rectify him and return him to the truth with a beautiful return...
Rather, when I visited the Shaykh, al-'Allaamah Zayd al-Madkhalee - hafidhahullaah - this past Saturday, corresponding to 19/8/1431H, I mentioned to him the speech of the Shaykh, al-'Allaamah Rabee' al-Madkhalee - hafidhahullaah. And that which I heard him say about 'Alee al-Halabee was, "If 'Alee al-Halabee is not an innovator, then there is no innovator to be found upon the face of the earth." So the Shaykh, al-'Allaamah Zayd al-Madkhalee - hafidhahullaah - smiled and said, "Maa shaa` Allaahu 'alayhi, Shaykh Rabee' has come out openly with the truth as it concerns him." And Shaykh Rabee' affirmed what he said in the presence of a number of noble brothers, from them: Shaykh 'Abdullaah an-Najmee and Shaykh Fawaaz al-Madkhalee..."

So the Shaykh, al-'Allaamah Zayd al-Madkhalee - hafidhahullaah - smiled and said, "Maa shaa` Allaahu 'alayhi, Shaykh Rabee' has come out openly with the truth as it concerns him." And Shaykh Rabee' affirmed what he said in the presence of a number of noble brothers, from them: Shaykh 'Abdullaah an-Najmee and Shaykh Fawaaz al-Madkhalee..."

The Names of 'Firqaat an-Najiyyah' (Saved Sect) and their meanings! | by Nasrin for everyone |
The Noble Shaykh, Al-'Allaamah Doctor Saalih bin Fawzaan Al-Fawzaan said:
As this sect is the only sect safe from going astray, it is required to know its various names and characteristics, so you can follow it . It has great names which distinguish it from the other sects, and most important of these names and characteristics are:
Firqaat an-Najiyya (Saved Sect), Taaifah al-Mansoorah (Victorious Group), Ahlu Sunnah wal-Jama'ah (People of Sunnah and Jama'ah), and the meaning of them are as follows:
- As for Firqaat an-Najiyya (Saved Sect), they are the ones saved from the hell-fire, since the Prophet -sallalaahu 'alaihi wasallam- said, ( كلها في النار إلا واحدة ) "All are in the hell-fire except one". This means, they are not in the hell-fire.
- They adhere to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Prophet - sallalaahu 'alaihi wasallam - and it was the first ones of the former migrants and supporters who said the Prophet - peace be upon him -: (who was like what I am today and my friends). Aand they upon that which the first of the Muhaajiroon and Ansaar are upon, who said that the Prophet - sallalaahu 'alaihi wasallam -:( هم من كان على مثل ما أنا عليه اليوم وأصحابي ) "They are upon what I and my companions are upon today."
- * And their people are Ahlu Sunnah wal-Jama'ah (People of Sunnah and Jama'ah: They are a distinguished by two great distinguishing factors:
1. They hold on to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah - sallalaahu 'alaihi wasallam -to the point that they became its people. But as for the other sects they hold on to their own whims and desires, and they are not attributed to the sunnah, but they are attributed to bid'ah and misguidance as it is with Qadariyyah and Murji'ah, or they are attributed to their founders as it is with Jamiyyah, or they are attributed to their ugly actions as it is with Raafidah and Khawarij.
2. The second factor is: And they are the people of the Jama'ah, they gather themselves upon Haqq (truth) and not upon Tafarruq (separation, sectarianism). But as for the other sects they do not gather themselves upon Haqq, but they follow their whims and desires. - * They are the Taaifah al-Mansoorah (Victorious Group) up until the Day of Qiyamah, because they give victory to the Deen of Allaah and Allaah gives them victory, as Allaah ta'ala said: (إِنْ تَنْصُرُوا اللهَ يَنْصُرْكُمْ ) ( If you help (in the cause of) Allýh, He will help you, and make your foothold firm). (Muhammad 47:7) and as the Prophet - sallalaahu 'alaihi wasallam - ( لا يضرهم من خذلهم ولا من خالفهم حتى يأتي أمر الله تبارك وتعالى وهم على ذلك ) "those who abandon them will not harm them, until the command of Allaah tabaaraka wata'aala comes about".

Holding good opinions of the Du’aat (the Callers) and How to advise them when they commit mistakes | by Nasrin for everyone |
Holding good opinions of the Du’aat (the Callers) and How to advise them when they commit mistakes
“…Allah, the Glorified commands us to stay away from suspicion and informs us that some of it is sinful. It’s the type of suspicion that there is no evidence for nor is it a legislated issue that has been pointed out (to implement). In support of this, it has been confirmed in the two Saheehsfrom Aboo Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings upon him, said: (Beware of suspicion, for indeed suspicion is the falsest of speech.)
None of this prevents the people of knowledge or the Du’aat(the callers) from being advised whenever they commit mistakes in their actions, their call, or in their conduct. On the contrary, they must be directed to what is correct and guided to the truth in a good manner, not by making fun of them or by having bad thoughts about them or even in a harsh manner.
This distances one from following the truth more than what is being called to so because of this, Allah the Mighty and Majestic said to His Messengers Moosaa and Haaroon, when he sent them to the most disbelieving created being of their time (Fira’oun): {And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah.} (Taa-Haa: 44)…”

My Notes from brother Fareed Abdullah's Class | for everyone |
Asalamu Alaikum Warhmatu Allahi Wabrkatuh
Here are some of my notes from the lecture brother Fareed Abdullah gave at Masjid Al-Quraan wa-sunnah. Because it wasn't broadcasted and some couldn't go. i decided to share some of the notes hoping from Allah to make it a beneficial.
Here you go. I will try to post the notes for tomorrow lecture too insha Allah.
These are just some of the most important points i thought worth sharing.
Bismillah
Points of benefits from the class after Maghrib:
1. is confirmed that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The Jews split into seventy-one sects; one will be in Paradise (i.e., those who followed Moses) and seventy will be in the Fire. The Christians split into seventy-two sects; seventy-one will be in the Fire and one will be in Paradise (i.e., those who followed Jesus). And by the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, this Ummah (nation) of mine will split into seventy-three sects; one will be in Paradise and seventy-two will be in the Fire. It was asked, "Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?" He (peace be upon him) said, "Al-Jamaýah (i.e., the group which adheres steadfastly to the way of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his Companions)." And in another narration: "(Those who follow) what I and my Companions are following." ibn majah
2. Imam malik said: "He who innovates something in Islam while deeming it to be a good innovation has claimed that Muhammad has betrayed his trust to deliver the message"
3. In jumua one should not raise his hands when the khateeb makes dua' a, it's an innovation in other than asking for istiskaa (rain). In fact Abu Awanah narrates that Husein bin Abdelrahman said "I have seen Bishr bin Marwan raise his hands in dua' on jumua Friday." Umarah bin Ruwaibah said, "May Allah curse those two hands for I have never seen the prophet (sallallahu aleih wasalam)do more than this." ( point with his finger during the Friday khutbah.)
4. Al-Bukhari and Muslim record from Shuraik on the authority of Anas that a man entered the mosque on Friday while the Prophet was addressing the people. The man said: “O Messenger of Allah, our wealth has been destroyed and we have no transport to the market place. Supplicate for us for rain.” The Prophet raised his hands and said: “O Allah, give us rain. O Allah, give us rain. O Allah, give us rain.” Anas said: “By Allah, at that time there were no clouds in the sky and there was no house or building between us and the mountain. From behind the mountain came a cloud looking like a shield. By the time it reached the middle of the sky, it burst and started to rain. By Allah, we did not see the sun for one week.
Then, on the next Friday, a man entered the mosque from that (same) door while the Prophet was making the address. The man faced the Prophet and said: ‘Our livestock is dead and the paths are impassable. Ask Allah to make it stop.’ The Prophet raised his hands and said: ‘O Allah, around us and not upon us. O Allah, make it upon the hills, small mountains, bottom of the valleys, and plantations.’ The rain stopped and we walked out in the sunshine.”
5. Allah said: "This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion" (Al-Maidah 5: 3)
6. Amr ibn Yahya narrated his father told him, "We used to sit at Abdullah Ibn Masood’s house before Fajr prayer. If he exited we would follow him to the musjid. Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari then came to us and asked us, ‘Did Abu Abur-Rahman (Abdullah Ibn Masood) come out yet?’ We said, ‘No’, so he sat with us till he emerged. We all stood up when he exited. He (Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari) said, ‘O Abu Adur-Rahman, I just saw something which I did not recognize, and I did not see, all thanks to Allah, but good.’ He (Ibn Masood) said, ‘What is it?’ He (Abu Musa) said, ‘If you live you will see it. I saw in the musjid people sitting in circles waiting for the prayer. In each circle there is a leader, and they have stones in their hands. He (the leader) would say, ‘Say Takbir (Allahu Akbar) 100 times’, so they say Takbir 100 times. He (the leader) would then say, ‘Say Tahil (La Ilaha Illa Allah) 100 times’, so they say Tahil 100 times. He (the leader) would then say, ‘Say Tasbih (Subhana Allah) 100 times’, so they say Tasbih 100 times. Ibn Masood said, ‘Did you not order them to count their evil deeds, and guarantee them that none of their good deeds will be lost?’ Then he and us left till we reached one of the circles. Then he (Ibn Masood) stood next to the circle and said, ‘What are you doing?’ They said, ‘O Abu Abdur-Rahamn, (these are) stones that we count our Takbir, Tahil, tasbih, and Tah’mid (Alhumdu’lillah).’ Ibn Masood said, ‘Count your evil deeds, for I guarantee that none of your good deeds will be lost. What is the matter with you, O nation of Muhammad? How soon you come to your destruction! The companions (of Muhammad) are still many, these are his clothes still not worn out and his cookware did not break yet. By whom my soul is in His Hands, you are either following a religion better than Muhammad’s or followers of a way of evil.’ They said, ‘By Allah, O Abu Abdur-Rahman, we sought only what is good.’ Ibn Masood said,‘Many people seek good, but they do not reach it. The Messenger told us some people who read the Qur’an will not have the Qur’an leave their throats (to their hearts). By Allah I do not know if most of you are from them.’ Then he left them. Amr Ibn Salamah said, ‘We saw most of those people fighting against us, in the battle of Nahrawan with the Khawarij.’" (Tirmidhi)
7. whatever was not a religion during the time of the Prophet cannot be part of it today.

The Permissibility of Using Facebook for Dawah
Question: There is a website called Facebook which has become well known and is widely used all over the world. On this website every person has their own page where they can write in and post up their pictures. Through the use of this website men and women are able to look at one another’s pictures and they often meet up through this website. Furthermore, it has also been mentioned on some of the newspapers and news reports that cases of kidnap, as well as adultery and fornication have increased directly because of this website. Now some of Ahl us-sunnah have started to use this website in the name of Da’wah. So is it permissible for us to utilize this website whilst knowing all of what has been mentioned?
Answer
Shaykh al-'Allaamah Rabee' Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee
“The salafee does not visit this type of website. There are enough salafee websites that they can visit.”
Shaykh Abu Umar Usaamah Utaybee of Madinah
“The website facebook is from the immoral and corrupt websites. And it is said that the Jews are behind it, and Allah knows best the truth of this statement. In any case, this does not concern us. That which concerns us is, whether the practices that occur on this website are permissible in the sharee’ah. As for the use of this website for men to meet women, and the socialisation between sexes as well as the use of this site for other corrupt activities, then this is clearly impermissible.
And women are weak and naive, so Messenger (ie. msn) and Chat and other similar websites and programmers harm the society, if they are used between men and women. This is completely and absolutely impermissible, due to women being weak and vulnerable. And how many cases of fornication and divorce and sin have come about due to the use of these sites. And this is something clearly recognized.
Face book came to gather between the evil of all of the previous messaging programmers. So all of these programmes were surpassed by Facebook and it increased upon them (i.e. their evil). Therefore it is an immoral and corrupt website. And if you were to use it to set up a page for Da’wah, then women would enter upon your page. And this would necessitate socializing with women and speaking to them, and perhaps she may even send you her picture and this is something unavoidable in Facebook. For that reason, the use of this website is impermissible, and I advise the youth that they stay away from it completely, and that they warn against it. And the fact that the sinful people and disbelievers use this website is not a reason for us to also use it, especially when the harm it causes is greater (than the benefit). So I advise you not enter into it.”
Shaykh Abu ‘Amr Al Hajooree of Yemen
Our Lord The Most High says in His Noble Book وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَشۡهَدُونَ ٱلزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِٱللَّغۡوِ مَرُّواْ ڪِرَامً۬
“And those who do not witness falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity”. And from the meanings of يشهدون to witness is يحضرون to take part in or to be present for. Allah the most high says فَمَن شَهِدَ مِنكُمُ الشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْه
“So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Saum (fasts) that month.” Meaning is whoever is present for and takes part in (that month).
So it is not permissible for any Muslim who fears Allah to use this website and take part in it. Especially due to what has been mentioned from the corruption and widespread evil which is present within it from pictures and the meeting of women as well as that which takes place because of this website from illegal sexual intercourse and kidnappings and other than that from the crimes which occur. So it is not permissible to use this kind of website. And by the grace and bounty of Allah anyone can create his own forum in this time which we live in. So Ahl us-Sunnah should create their own websites and forums where there is no aiding one another upon sin and transgression but rather where the people aid each other upon righteousness and piety and where the people can call to Allah to their utmost. As for taking part in these kinds of websites, even if it is thought that there is some good in it, then the evil within it is a lot worse and taking part in this website constitutes agreeing with this evil so it is not permissible to take part in it.

The Consequences of Bida’ & Extremism in the Religion | by Nasrin for everyone |

Questioner: Is Shaykh al-Albaanee at the head of the ahl-ul-Hadeeth of this time?
The Answer of the ‘Allaamah al-Muhaddith Rabee’ bin Haadee ‘Umayr al-Madhkhalee HafidhAllaah, and May Allaah raise his grade in both worlds, was:
‘I swear by Allaah that this is what Shaykh Ibn Baaz and Ibn ‘Uthaymeen submit to, as do the other scholars who have spent time in his company. They submit to the fact that there is none that can be compared with him in hadeeth, never can any one be compared with him, actually, for many centuries no one has reached to where Shaykh al-Albaani has reached.
I hold the opinion, that in study of books, neither Ibn Taymeeyah, nor Ibn Hajr reached him in the study of books. As for memorization, then they memorized more than him, but as for study and research and working extremely hard in research then there is none in comparison to him.
He has offered a library for Islaam. The Islaamic Countries and their institutions fall short in offering this amount. Anyone who now writes about hadeeth has to refer back to this man.
This man was oppressed, and the Arabs never knew his reality. Allaah took this man from the heart of Europe and placed him in the Dhahireeyah library, the best library in the east, where he spent sixty years, and he put forward this great work. What did he get in return from us?
With sadness, the virtue of a people is only known by those who posses it. As for the scholars, they knew his virtue and they acknowledged that, such as the likes of Ibn Baaz, Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, and the scholars of Islaam other than them. The scholars of India and Pakistan and the Western Arab Regions and of other places knew the status of this man, from what he placed forward for this Ummah, in ‘Aqeedah, Manhaj and the service to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah – alayhi as-Salaat wa Salaam -, may Allaah have mercy on him, and reward him with goodness for the Deen of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Prophet – alayhi as-Salaat wa Salaam -, the reward for those who do good actions, and for those who gave a service to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah and His Deen. Naaam!

The Difference between Naseehah and Tajreeh
“It is not permissible to broadcast mistakes and to disparage those who have fallen into them and to construct our gatherings upon back biting and slandering them. Allah has prohibited all of that…So perhaps the one being spoken about is better than the one who speaks about him…The deficiency found in your brother is a deficiency found in you. If you want to rectify this deficiency that has occurred from the ruler or from the general Muslims then let this Naseehah occur between you and between the one being advised in private. That you sit in a gathering or speak on a tape recording or speak upon the pulpit during a sermon and disparage the Muslim rulers or that you disparage your Muslim brothers then this affair is not permissible. This is not Naseehah. On the contrary this is Fadheehah (scandal and controversy). It is the difference between Naseehah and Tajreeh (disparagement).”
