Shaykh Muhammad Al Imaam: The right of the companions

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم

What is compulsory is that we believe with absolute certainty that they are the best of mankind after the prophets and messengers and the best of them is Abu Bakr, then Umar, then Uthman, then Ali may Allah be pleased with them all. Also we are to be pleased with them because Allah (without doubt) is pleased with them. We love them with the legislated love that is free from excessiveness. We acknowledge what is with them of virtue over the rest of the Islamic nation from those who came after them.

Indeed they were the carriers of Islam, they spread it with proofs and evidences, and with the sword and shield. Verily, Allah honored them with His messenger's companionship and specifically chose them to follow and aid him. Thus they are those who made hijra and those who gave aid. They are the people of virtue who didn't gather upon falsehood. They are the truthful and the fulfillers (of their covenant with Allah). So we know with unshakable knowledge that they were upon the straight path and true guidance.

Shaykh Muhammad Al Imaam: The right of the scholars

نسم الله الرحمان الرحيم

The Messenger of Allah said: "He is not from us who doesn't honor our old, show mercy to our young, and acknowledge the scholar and his right." Narrated by Ahmad and Al Haakim.

Therefore, the right of the scholars of narrative evidence upon the people is that they honor them, learn all aspects of Islam from them, return to them in every dubious and difficult matter that befalls them from the affairs of their religion or worldly matters. Likewise the people should recognize their value, defend them, aid them when they're (the scholars) wronged, and be fully aware that they're not infallible. Thus we don't follow they're mistakes.

They are the glory, strength, light, and beauty of the ummah. With them the religion is preserved, the truth is made known, and the falsehood is exposed. Furthermore the right of the people upon the scholars of hadith is that they teach them the religion of Allah, advise them, enjoin the good upon them and forbid the evil doing that sincerely for Allah and in accordance with what the salaf were upon. Also to warn them against diverging paths that split them from Allah (and his one path). Thus the (means to) diverging paths are four:

1: The athiest that makes one skeptical concerning Allah's religion.

2:The innovator that deviates from the Messenger of Allah (deviates from his guidance due to him innovated in the religion).

3: The negligent that forgets the remembrance of Allah.

4: The sinner that remains steadfast upon sinning.

So if they do that (warn against the previously mentioned things) then they have fulfilled what is upon them. The Exalted says:

و إذ أخذ الله ميثاق الذين أوتوا الكتاب لتبيننه للناس و لا تكتمونه

"When Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture to make it known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it." [Ali-Imran:187]

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdil-Wahhaab al-AqeelReference: Private sitting with the Shaikh, later translated on Thursday January 25th 2007,
                      corresponding to 7th Muharram 1428

"O Sheikh we desire from you some clarification on how the Da'ee or the student of knowledge can be effective and successful in giving Da'wah in
spite of living in the West, and how is he to respond to such questions which are prone to controversy without tarnishing the honor of Islam?"

Sheikh: First of all it is not appropriate for anyone to speak about the religion of Islam except the Ulamaa and the students of knowledge. Nothing has
been more damaging and detrimental to this religion of Islam than those ignorant individuals who take it upon themselves to speak about the religion.
For they neither speak with knowledge nor Hikmah (i.e. wisdom) and Allah Azza wa Jala stated:

{ادعوا إلى سبيل ربك با لحكمة والموعظة الحسنة و جادلهم با لتي هي أحسن}

"Call to the path of your Lord with wisdom and good admonition and argue in ways which are best"

And Allah stated:

{و لا تجادل أهل الكتاب إلا بالتي هي أحسن}

"And don't argue with the people of the Book except in ways which are best"

You see, this issue of giving Da'wah deserves some Fiqh (i.e. understanding). Hence not everything you know you mention for example, what is
appropriate to say in Madinah is not appropriate to say in Makka, what is appropriate to say in Makka may not be the best thing to say in Egypt, and
that which is appropriate to say in Egypt may not appropriate to say in Britain, and what may be appropriate to say in Britain may not be
appropriate to say in America. Many of these affairs require for the individual to be wise, intelligent and to have deep insight especially since there is
an agenda against Islam. Rather the Da'ee or student of knowledge should mention what is enough to obtain his objective and get his point across
without going into too many details fearing that the listener may not comprehend the details of certain matters or may misconstrue what he hears
which could eventually turn out to be detrimental for him in his religion, similar to the Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wa salam) when he said about the
individual:

{بئس أخو عشيرة}

"...What an evil companion he is..."

But when he entered the house of the Prophet he smiled with him and dealt with him in a handsome manner. Meaning the Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wa
salam) never expressed to him, directly, the way he felt about him fearing the harm that it may cause. Da'wah today, especially in the west is in need
of Ulamaa and Fuqahaa, those who know the difference between what is beneficial and what is detrimental and harmful. May Allah preserve you
everyone of us knows, without a doubt, what is beneficial and we all know what is detrimental but when harm and benefit are combined in
one situation at the same time who knows how to deal with it? Just as the Prophet (Sallahu alaihi wa salam) said:

إن الحلال بين و الحرام بين و بينهما أمور مشتبهات لا يعلمهن كثير من الناس...

"Indeed the Halal is clear and the Haram is clear and between them are doubtful matters which many of the people have no knowledge of..."

For indeed every Muslim knows what is Halal and what is Haram but as it relates to the doubtful matters, those which are Haram from one angle and
Halal from another angle? Very few understand them. It is not incumbent upon you if you are asked, "What is the legal ruling in Islam concerning
homosexuality? To respond with such details as you have studied but rather you should say that yes homosexuality in Islam is forbidden and it is a
crime which is punishable by the Islamic legal justice system.

If they say: "So what is the capital punishment?" then you reply that they should turn to the Islamic legal justice system and they will find the answer
which they are looking for. It is neither incumbent upon you as a Da'ee nor as a student of knowledge to respond to such questions nor mention
everything that you know when you do decide to respond.

Another thing that has to be understood, may Allah preserve you, is that Islam is a complete systematic way of life and constitution and with this is
mind, it is not from wisdom, intellect, integrity and justice on the part of the Da'ee or the student of knowledge to single out one component or portion
of this complete system and debate it whether with the Muslims, who lack understanding of the fundamental principles of the religion, or with the non-
Muslims those who lack understanding of the religion all together due to the distorted perceptions which they hold about it I will give you an example:
consider the fact that a car moves due to all of the components which make up an automobile, but if you were to take a single part from the engine
then you would say that it is a worthless piece which has no benefit or value due to the fact that it is a separate entity by itself. But if you were to take
that same piece and put it along with the other components which make the car then it plays an important role like the rest of the parts and you will
understand that the car cannot function with out it nor is the piece of any worth without the car!!

Likewise the capital punishments in Islam, the legislative rulings, the issues related to Walaa and Baraa (allegiance and disassociation) and other
components which make up the religion, if you were to look at them one by one as separate entities perhaps you may not see the wisdom or the
benefit in them, but if you were to look at them in light of the other components which make up the religion in totality then perhaps you will see their
significance and importance. May Allah preserve you when the religion of Islam was made up of one component in the Holy City of Makka there was
nothing but Tawheed (i.e. Monotheism). This was the only component of the religion of Islam during that time. There was no prayer, no fasting
- rather the Muslims were free to pray as they desired during the day and night. There was no fasting, no Zakat, no Hajj, nor were there any capital
punishments, rather the Muslims still used to drink alcohol because drinking alcohol did not conflict nor contradict the principle of Tawheed, but when
did drinking alcohol conflict with the religion? When they migrated to Madinah and various legislations of the religion were revealed, for when
the Salat was made compulsory then at that time drinking alcohol conflicted with the religion as Allah says:

{...ولا تقربوا الصلاة حتى تعلمون ما تقولون...}

"...And do not come to the prayer in a drunken state until you can understand what you are saying..."

Do you see o noble brothers? Therefore it is a mistake for a Da'ee or student of knowledge to debate about one particular component of the religion,
without considering the fact that the religion is a complete system which, it is imperative for the Da'ee or the student of knowledge, to begin with its
fundamental principles, for example, has he says: "Today I am going to debate the issue of the capital punishment for Zina (i.e. fornication)." This is
incorrect, rather it is not permissible for you to debate the issue of the capital punishment for Zina as an isolated and independent entity because the
people will never be convinced! They will not understand!

Or he says: "I am going to debate the issue of the Hijab (the covering of the Muslim women in Islam) for the people will never be convinced nor agree
with it because it is an isolated entity or component taken from a whole complete system but rather his position should be to debate the foundation of
this complete system, for example, the beauty of Islam and what the religion of Islam did to this society over 1400 years ago when the people learned
through the religion of Islam the true meaning of brotherhood, they were united and loved one another.

Islam entered into the heart of an individual who was before, a wild savage and then all of the sudden he is gentle, subtle, caring and loving. He now
loves his mother whereas before he used to hit her and disrespect her, but now he kisses her feet out of respect and reverence for her. And the fact
that he used to be oppressive to his wife and everyday he would beat her and then take sexual pleasure in her and after two months of being with her
he divorces her, puts her out and moves on to the next woman but now this same individual fears his Lord concerning her rights in Islam and is
conscious of her feelings, he cries and is concerned about his wife and children. What was it that changed him? It was the religion of Islam!!

So look at Islam starting from its foundation, for the West is in need of proper representation of the religion because those who have personal
agendas against the religion of Islam are strong , they are not little children. They are strong and organized, rather they are powerful countries,
organizations and experienced individuals and groups who have personal and political agendas against the religion of Islam and they not going to be
refuted by some small inexperienced student of knowledge who just graduated from the Arabic language program, or someone who considers himself
to be a student but did not actually study the religion. These people should either be refuted with sound knowledge or the individual should keep
silent. The issue is not for the student of knowledge to hasten to the forefront after he graduates, as it is said: The ignorant friend will harm you more
than an intelligent enemy. For the enemy who is intelligent, may harm you or put you in a difficult position or situation, but the ignorant friend will harm
you in more ways than you realize.

These people they are not going to just hold you accountable for one word you say and then its over! Rather they have future plans and strategies,
they compile books and so forth. So don't take things on face value and eventually causing more harm to yourself and the religion than good and we
seek Allah's assistance. Therefore it is incumbent on the Da'ee and the student of knowledge to be wise and understand that these affairs have to be
looked at in totality because the problem in the west is that they single out one aspect of the religion scrutinize it and build there perception of the
whole religion based on that one aspect for example they say: "Why can't the women in Saudi Arabia drive?" or they say "Why can't Muslim women
work?" or "Why can the man marry two or three wives?" We marry two and three wives to prevent us from committing adultery and fornication.

If you were to ask one of them: How many times have you committed adultery or fornication? Some may even reply: "over a hundred times!" Is this
something that an intelligent person would say? Is this something to brag and boast about? You commit this indecent act and at the same time you
are responsible for spreading AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases and corruption in the earth. This is the problem in the West that they take
from the doubtful matters of the religion which are probable to criticism and totally neglect those aspects which are unambiguous and logical to
everyone.

For example, the issue of polygyny in Islam, rather even the Muslim women are uncomfortable with this issue due to their severe jealousy at times or
due to their lack of understanding the wisdom of Allah in legislating it at others, so they find a Muslim woman who is uncomfortable with polygyny and
give her an interview, which I have seen with my own eyes, and ask her what she thinks about polygyny? So she will reply by saying she doesn't like it
and she is uncomfortable with it, then they will say: "See look! Even the Muslim woman doesn't like polygyny!! Look at how Islam oppresses their
women!!" They take bits and pieces of the religion, but I swear by Allah if Islam was to be presented to them completely, inclusively and thoroughly, I
swear by Allah there would be none on the face of the earth except they would enter in the religion f Islam wholeheartedly except for those who are
just to arrogant and jealous to do so.

So the role of the Da'ee and student of knowledge is to teach and educate the laymen from the Muslims that Zina is haram, and Riba (usury)
is haram and homosexuality is Haram. Although Allah has not made the in-depth details of such delicate issues incumbent upon the laymen rather if
they died and were ignorant of such in-depth details it would not harm them in the least Teach and educate them that Islam came to perfect moral
behavior and character and teach them Tawheed, educate them and emphasize the fact that Allah is to be singled out alone for worship and that
servitude to anyone or anything other than Allah is Shirk(i.e. polytheism) and other than this from those affairs which are incumbent on every Muslims
to know and have complete understanding of like Salat and its rulings, Siyam (i.e. fasting) and its rulings, Zakat and its rulings and Hajj and its rulings.

I live right here in the capital of Tawheed and I mentioned one time in a lesson that going to the extreme with the righteous and pious and making
Anasheed about them can lead to Shirk (Polytheism i.e. associating partners with Allah) and some people had a problem with that! I said no different
than the eminent noble Sheikh Abdul Aziz Ibn Baz (May Allah have mercy on him) said, and they still had a problem with it and we live right here in the
capital of Tawheed!!

So how much more is it going to be in your countries?! So understanding the religion is imperative for the Da'ee and the student of knowledge
and for those students who hasten to the forefront without any knowledge then it is obligatory on them to fear Allah and not to speak about the
religion of Islam except with sound knowledge because everything they do and say is going to be evaluated and scrutinized. So don't be hasty, o
noble brothers, to be in the forefront, but if there is no way around it then it is upon you to teach the people the affairs of the religion which are clear
and unambiguous from the halal and the haram and leave alone the doubtful matters and when they come to you with these affairs say: "I understand
that Zina is haram and the Salat is compulsory!"

And when they ask you about the rulings regarding Jihad then say: "I don't know! Go to the scholars of Islam for we have senior scholars in Islam
whom you can go to and ask them whatever you like but they have only taught me what is incumbent upon me to practice of my religion in my country
as for the details of these affairs I don't know"

From the methodology of the people of innovation

Imam Ash Shawkaani :rahim: said in his book Adab At Talab page 116:

And the continuing principle of the people of Bid'ah (innovation) in the past and present is that the become elated when a scholar says one word that goes according to their innovation. And they maximize their efforts in making it known and spreading it between themselves. Furthermore, they use it as an evidence for their innovations and use it as a slap in the faces of those who speak out against them."

Notes (from myself):

Imam Ash Shawkani has certainly spoken the truth. And this momentous statement of his which should be written in gold resembles the statement of the Salaf: "Whomsoever follows the mistakes of the scholars becomes a heretic (Zindeeq)." This means that a person can become an innovator as a result. I will give some examples:

The people who make distortion of the meanings of Allah's attributes use the statements of Imam An Nawawi and Imam Ibn Hajar as a shield to hide their deviance.

Also, there are people who use the statements of Imam Ash Shawkani and Imam Ibn Hazam to justify that Music is Halaal while leaving off the majority of evidence showing that it is in fact unlawful.

Then there are groups like the Tableegh who use the old Fatwa of Ibn Baz to say that the Tableegh is a group upon guidance although they would never refer to the Fatwa before his death.

Then there are the Hizbees who use the statements of Abdul Azeez Aal Ash Shaikh to defend Sayyid Qutb on the basis that the Grand Mufti defended him even through there is evidence upon evidence to show that his philosophies are based upon French ideologues such as Robispierre and Alexis Carrol.

Then there are some, like those in England, who say voting is Halaal and Waajib at times using the statements of Shaikh Wasiyullah, Shaikh Ibn Baaz, Shaikh Ibn Uthaimeen and others despite the plethora of evidences to show that voting is Haraam without a doubt since it is based on a Godless system where man is the only lawmaker. And Shaikh Yahya Al Haajuri said explicitly; as for those who support voting we consider them as innovators. And as a brother pointed out to me in a conversation I had with him; only people who want to vote would try to support voting.

Then there are those who made errors and knowingly contact the Ulama in order to provide a justification for their errors. Afterward they seek to make confusion in the hearts of the youths.

Then there are some who wish to call the Ulama on those who seek to forbid the wrong and command the good because they simply want a lawyer to speak for them when they make their claims. However, know that when they do this they simply cut a piece of the fire for themselves.

And then there are those who speak about Dar Ul Hadeeth in Dammaj using some of the statements of Shaikh Ubaid Al Jaabiri on the issue because for years those ranging from Abu Hasan to Bakri have been seeking an attorney to speak on their behalf. However, this doesn't avail them in the least. I ask Allah to make the Shaikh's eyes open to these deviants who seek to make division between Ahlus Sunnah.

All of this happens because many are ruled and summoned by their desires. And when a scholar is contacted and he goes in accordance with this they find a justification. However, this does not injure Ahlus Sunnah in the least rather it raises their status. And conversly it lowers the people of innovation in the depths of their desires and abysmal ignorance.

Allah has said: "And we have made them Imams when they remained patient."

And the Prophet :saw: has said: "There will always be a group from my Ummah who will be apparant among the people. Those who abandon them or oppose them will not harm them until the hour comes and they are upon this."

This group is truly working for Allah. This group does not fear the blame of the blamers, whomsoever it may me. This group does not fear anyone except Allah. They are not Salafi to satisfy their friends or a scholar but rather they are Salafi in order that Allah raises them in the best of states.

So to my brothers in Trinidad, Saudi, Yemen, England, the United States, Mexico etc. Have patience and stick to the Sunnah even if the whole of mankind reject you.

And lastly I ask our Shaikh Abdul Hameed Al Hajurri the following:

How do we purify our Da'wah when some people may quote differences of opinion between the scholars relating to elections, da'wah organizations and the like?

The Shaikh said (in summary): It is purified by following the book and the Sunnah... and whomsoever follows the mistakes of a scholar will become a heretic.

Therefore my brothers, be patient and firm upon this way and do not leave it a hair's length. May Allah reward all of you.

The ruling on joining religious parties

Q 2:
What do you advise preachers to do against the religious innovators? We would like you to direct special advice to the young men who are excited about joining so-called religious parties.

A: We advise all our brothers to call the people to Allah (may He be Exalted) with wisdom and gentle preaching and arguing with the best manner as He asked us to do with all the people and with the innovators if they show their innovation in public whether they are from the Shi`ah (Shi'ites) or others. Believers have to denounce any innovation in religion as much as they can by using legal ways.

Bid`ah (innovation in religion) is what people innovate in religion and then attribute to religion even though it is not. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, He who innovates something in our (religious) affair that is not part of it will have it rejected. The Prophet (may Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon him) also says: Whoever does any act for which there is no sanction on our behalf, it is to be rejected. Rafidah (a Shi`ah group denying the caliphates of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq and `Umar ibn Al-Khattab and making accusations against them and many other Companions of the Prophet), Mu`tazilah (a deviant Islamic sect claiming that those who commit major sins are in a state between belief and disbelief), Murji'ah (a deviant Islamic sect claiming that Faith is restricted to belief not deeds) and Khawarij (separatist group that believes committing a major sin amounts to disbelief) are clear examples of the erroneous groups which were established on the basis of Bid`ah. Likewise, there are the Bid`ahs of celebrating birthday parties and building mosques over graves, and so on. We should advise and direct people to what is good, denounce the Bid`ahs they introduce using legal proofs and educate them with gentle and good manners and clear proofs so that they would accept the truth.

( Part No : 7,Page No:177)

A Muslim must not belong to innovated parties. We should only belong to Allah's Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace be upon him) and cooperate in this regard with sincerity and truth so as to be part of Allah's Party. Allah (may He be Exalted) says at the end of Surah Al-Mujadalah, Verily, it is the Party of Allâh that will be the successful. After mentioning their great traits in His Saying, You (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) will not find any people who believe in Allâh and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad peace be upon him) ...

Among their great traits are what Allah (may He be Exalted) mentionsin Surah Al-Dhariyat whenAllah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says: “Truly! The Muttaqûn (the pious) will be amidst Gardens and water-springs (Paradise).  Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinûn (good-doers).  They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allâh) and praying, with fear and hope].  And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allâh) for forgiveness.  And in their properties there was the right of the Sa’il (the beggar who asks) and the Mahrûm (the poor who does not ask others). These are the traits of Allah's Party. They do not side with other than Allah's Book and the Sunnah; they call people to them and follow the way of the Sahabah (Companions of the Prophet) (may Allah be pleased with them) and their followers in proper guidance.

They advise all parties and societies and ask them to adhere to the Qur'an and Sunnah, using both as a reference to judge any difference. If any matter agrees with the Qur'an and Sunnah, it will be acceptable; otherwise, it is to be rejected.

There is no difference in this regard between the groups of Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimun (Muslim Brotherhood), Ansar-ul-Sunnah, Al-Jam`iyyah Al-Shar`iyyah, the Tabligh Group or any other group that relates itself to Islam. In this way, Muslims will be united, their objective will be clear and they will be as one party

( Part No : 7,Page No:178)

following on the footsteps of Ahl-ul-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah (those adhering to the Sunnah and the Muslim main body) who are Allah's Party and supporters and callers to His religion.

It is not allowed to fanatically adhere to any group or party in a way that contradicts our pure Shari`ah.

A response to those whom say "too much raduud, refutations is hard or heavy on the heart"

Shaykh Saalih al Fawzaan , may Allah preserve him,was asked what is
your opinion of the one whom says that the book of refutations
hardens the heart?

A: Refutations is not to be left, (leaving it ) is that which hardens
the hearts, meaning the people living upon error and misguidance
hardens the heart, as for respecting the truth and refuting the
baatil, falsehood then this is from that which softens the hearts,
with no doubt ,yes.

Advice for the Du`ah not to be impatient in reaping the fruits of their Da`wah

Q: What is your advice to the Du`ah (caller to Islam) who are impatient for the fruits of Da`wah (calling to Islam)?

A: It is obligatory upon Du`ah to practice patience and persistence, in order to guide and help people comprehend the religion, so that they can recognize the Obligations and Prohibitions of Allah out of insight. It is a must to be careful and ascertain, so that the laypeople and learners can comprehend what is being preached to them. There is nothing wrong with repeating and paraphrasing sentences to clarify to the questioner or the attendants the meaning intended by the teacher or the guide. It may happen that the attendants do not understand the language in use, so the teacher or the guide should repeat and paraphrase until the meaning is grasped and the evidence is established. This must be done with patience. Allah (may He be Exalted) says: and be patient. Surely, Allâh is with those who are As-Sâbirûn (the patient).  He (may He be Glorified) says: And endure you patiently (O Muhammad peace be upon him), your patience is not but from Allâh.  May Allah grant us success!

Wahhabism does not antagonize Al-ul-Bayt
It is the Manhaj of the Salaf

Q: Is it true that Wahhabism antagonizes Al-ul-Bayt (members of the Prophet's extended Muslim family) and criticizes the Prophet (peace be upon him)? What is the essence of this Da`wah (call)? Why is it fought?

A: Wahhabism is attributed to Shaykh Imam Muhammad Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab who died in 1206 A.H. (may Allah be merciful with him). He invited people to Allah (may He be Glorified) in Najd. He explained to people the essence of Tawhid (belief in the Oneness of Allah/ monotheism) and Shirk (associating others with Allah in His Divinity or worship). He invited people to worship Allah (may He be Glorified) alone and to abstain from worshipping the deceased whom they claimed to be Awliya' (pious people), Jinn, trees, and stones or sought their help, beseeched them, and made vows to them. He and the scholars who followed him explained to them that this is a form of major Shirk (associating others in worship with Allah). He (may Allah be merciful with him) started his call in the middle of the twelve Hijri century until his death in 1206 A.H. Imam Muhammad Ibn Sa`ud (may Allah be merciful with him) who is the grandfather of today's Royal Family of Al Sa`ud helped and supported him. He was also supported by all those who have knowledge of the guidance and the Truth with which Allah (may He be Exalted) sent Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). His call spread in Najd and the surrounding villages. He was supported by the scholars of the Sunnah in Najd, Hijaz, Yemen, Egypt, Levant (the region covering Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine), Iraq, India, and so on. He called people to worship Allah (may He be Exalted) according to what He has revealed to

( Part No : 9,Page No:231)

Muhammad (peace be upon him). He invited them to worship Allah alone, devote all acts of worship to Him, and fulfill the testimony of Faith (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah). He also called them to refrain from the practices of those who worship the graves and the Awliya' such as beseeching, seeking help, offering sacrifices, and making vows to others than Allah (may He be Exalted). However, some people showed hostility to his call out of their ignorance of the guidance and the true religion which was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) or due to following their whims. Shaykh Muhammad (may Allah be merciful with him) and his followers love Ahl-ul-Bayt who followed in his (peace be upon him) footsteps. They know their virtues and they draw closer to Allah (may He be Exalted) through loving them and asking Allah to forgive and bestow His mercy and pleasure upon them such as Al-`Abbas ibn `Abdul-Muttalib, the uncle of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his sons, the fourth Rightly-Guided Caliphs `Aly Ibn Abu Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) and his sons; Al-Hasan, Al-Hussein, and Muhammad (may Allah be pleased with them), and the other members of Al-ul-Bayt who obeyed Allah and worshipped Him alone. The Wahhabis follow the Manhaj (methodology) of the Salaf (righteous predecessors) from among the Sahabah (companions of the Prophet, may Allah be pleased with them) and the Tabi`un (Followers, the generation after the Companions of the Prophet) in `Aqidah (creed), sayings, deeds and they hate whoever go against their Manhaj. This is the Truth which every Muslim should follow and call others to it. Allah (may He be Glorified) says, Indeed, in the Messenger of Allâh (Muhammad peace be upon him) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allâh and the Last Day, and remembers Allâh much.

( Part No : 9,Page No:232)

Indeed, there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrâhîm (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: “Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allâh: we have rejected you, and there has appeared between us and you hostility and hatred forever until you believe in Allâh Alone.”  Allah (may He be Exalted) also says, And the foremost to embrace Islâm of the Muhâjirûn (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansâr (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhâjirûn) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allâh is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The people of my generation are the best, then those who follow them, and then those who follow the latter."  (Agreed upon by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)In his Khutbah (sermon), the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to say, "The best of speech is the Book of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance brought by Muhammad. The most evil affairs are innovations; and every innovation is an error."  (Related by Muslim in his Sahih (authentic) book of Hadith)He (peace be upon him) also said, You must follow my Sunnah and that of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs. Stick to them and hold fast to them. Avoid novelties, for every novelty is a Bid`ah (innovation in religion), and every Bid`ah is misguidance."  There are many Hadith that stress this meaning.

Accordingly, the inquirer and others should know that the Wahhabis are the followers of Shaykh Muhammad Ibn `Abdul-Wahhab (may Allah be merciful with him) who supported and followed his call and invited people to it. They are not Mubtadi` (persons who introduce innovations in religion) and they neither show enmity towards Ahl-ul-Bayt

( Part No : 9,Page No:233)

nor criticize the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). They are following the footsteps of the Salaf from the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and those who follow them in righteousness. Their love for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is genuine and is greater than their love for themselves, their parents, and all people, for the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "None of you believes until I am more beloved to them than their father, their children, and the entire human race."

It was also narrated that `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! You are dearer to me than everything except my own self.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, “No, `Umar, you will not have true faith until I am dearer to you than your own self. `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) then said, “You are dearer to me than my own self.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Now, `Umar [you have true faith]."  A believer should love the Prophet (peace be upon him) more than himself.

Following and adhering to his teachings and being aware of what contradicts them prove the sincere love to him. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says, Say (O Muhammad peace be upon him to mankind): “If you (really) love Allâh then follow me (i.e. accept Islâmic Monotheism, follow the Qur’ân and the Sunnah), Allâh will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Those who were hostile to this call are either ignorant of its teachings or following their whims, sacrificing their Hereafter for the sake of worldly gains, and supporting falsehood against the Truth out of ignorance or due to following whims. They are like the Jews who showed hostility towards our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his message, which Allah (may He be Exalted) sent him with, out of envy, hatred, and following their whims. We ask Allah to grant us safety and well-being.

Obedience to the ruler

Q: Many questions have arisen regarding the statement of Your Eminence "Obeying the ruler is Obligatory" and the Hadith  He who obeys the commander (appointed by me) obeys me.   Does this mean we should obey the ruler in everything?

A: This is a Hadithrelated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim in the Two Sahih (authentic) Books of Hadith (i.e. Al-Bukhari and Muslim)on the authority of Abu Hurairah in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) stated, Whoever obeys the commander (appointed by me) obeys me, and whoever disobeys the commander disobeys me.  Moreover, Allah (glory be to Him) states in His Glorious Book, O you who believe! Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger (Muhammad peace be upon him), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority.

This ruling is general and its meaning is qualified by other Hadiths from the Sunnah, as both the Quran and the Sunah are integrated and their rulings restrict each other. That is to say, the general meaning in the book of Allah can be defined by a Hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and vice versa. Thus, the Ayah under discussion is among the positions which the Sunnah confines its meaning. Allah (may He be Exalted) stated, and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority.  And it reported in the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet,Obedience is obligatory only in what is good.  Those in authority should not be obeyed except in Islamically lawful matters. Similarly, parents, a husband etc., should not be obeyed except in Islamically allowable matters as stated in aforementioned Hadith and the statement of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the other Hadith, There is no obedience to a creature in defiance to the Creator.  When the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to the Sahabah (the Prophet's companions, may Allah be pleased with them), You will be ruled by leaders and you will find from them good matters and abominable matters.

( Part No : 9,Page No:104)

They asked, "O Allah's Messenger, what do you command us to do? Should not we declare war on them?" He (peace be upon him) said, "No. Fulfill the rights due to them and ask Allah for the rights due to you."  And and in other narration he (peace be upon him) stated,Give them their due rights and ask Allah for your rights.  And in other narration No, unless you see an evident infidelity on which you have a proof from Allah.  and in other narration No, as long as they establish Salah (prayer) among you.  Accordingly, submission and obedience to rulers are established by the authentic Hadiths, but are restricted to Islamically lawful matters.

The clarification of the rulers' rights upon the Ummah

His Eminence, Shaykh `Abdul-`Aziz ibn Baz the General Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has shed light upon rulers' rights and the necessity of obeying them in that which does not involve disobedience to Allah, he quoted Ayahs from the Qur'an and Hadiths mentioned to this effect. Moreover, his Eminence cited the basis of Islamic Da`wah (call to Islam) in Saudi Arabia and warned against false and misleading calls, describing their advocates as being callers to great evil. This was mentioned during a seminar held in Al-Jami` Al-Kabir (the Grand Masjid (mosque) in Riyadh on Thursday night 1/5/1417 a.h. entitled: "The clarification of rulers' rights upon the Ummah (nation of creed) by evidence from the Qur'an and Sunnah (whatever reported from the Prophet), and explaining the consequences of violating this" where he said:

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds, and the good end is for Al-Muttaqin (pious people), may peace and blessings be upon His beloved Prophet and the one entrusted with His Revelation our Prophet, Imam (leader) and Master; Muhammad ibn `Abdullah, his family, Companions and whoever follows his path and is directed by his guidance until the Day of Resurrection, to continue:

There is no doubt that Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) has ordained for us to obey rulers, cooperate with them in virtuousness and Taqwa (fearing Allah has He should be feared), as well as recommending them to observe Al-Haqq (the Truth) and endure it, for He (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says:

( Part No : 9,Page No:94)

O you who believe! Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger (Muhammad peace be upon him), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. And if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allâh and His Messenger (peace be upon him) if you believe in Allâh and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination.

This is the way of happiness and guidance; observing obedience to Allah and His Messenger in everything. However, obedience of the rulers in Ma`ruf (that which is judged as good, beneficial, or fitting by Islamic law and Muslims of sound intellect) is an act of obedience to Allah and His Messenger, this is why He (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says: Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger (Muhammad peace be upon him), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority.  Because, obedience of the ruler is subsequent to the obedience of Allah and His Messenger, namely the commanders and scholars, who should be obeyed in that which is Ma`ruf. But, if they enforce an act of disobedience to Allah, they should not be obeyed regardless of the posts they occupy; a commander, king, scholar, president or other, according to the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): Obedience is obligatory only in what is good (and reasonable)  Moreover, Allah says, addressing the Prophet (peace be upon him): and that they will not disobey you in Ma‘rûf (Islâmic Monotheism and all that which Islâm ordains)  He (may He be Glorified and Exalted) also says: So keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him as much as you can; listen and obey; and spend in charity; that is better for yourselves.  In this Ayah, Allah has ordained Muslims to observe Taqwa, to hear and obey, but only in Ma`ruf, for texts explain and support each other, accordingly, it is obligatory for all those who are legally accountable for their actions to cooperate with rulers

( Part No : 9,Page No:95)

in good, obey in Ma`ruf and watch their tongues with respect to the means to corruption, evil, disunity and dissolution. For this reason, Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says: And if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allâh and His Messenger (peace be upon him)  i.e., refer the ruling to the Qur'an and Sunnah of His Messenger (peace be upon him) in following Al-Haqq and gathering good as well as warning against evil, this is the path of the people of guidance and Mu'minin (believers).

However, whoever wants to suppress the truth, call to evil and corruption and spread whatever involves slander whether it is true or false, this is the path of mischief, disunity and Fitan (trouble and trials). On the other hand, people of goodness and Taqwa spread good and call to it, they also recommend each other to observe it, and this leads to the achievement of welfare, harmony, unity, and cooperation in virtuousness and Taqwa, for Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says: Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwâ (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression.  He (may He be Glorified) also says: By Al-‘Asr (the time).  Verily, man is in loss,   Except those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth [i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma‘ruf) which Allâh has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar) which Allâh has forbidden], and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allâh’s Cause during preaching His religion of Islâmic Monotheism or Jihâd).

Furthermore, it is clearly recognized that Muslim rulers who are aware of the limits of Allah, support Al-Haqq, defend the oppressed, solve problems, implement the Hudud (ordained punishments for violating Allah’s Law) and the Qisas (just retaliation) in addition to providing the means to safety and punishing the oppressor and wrongful, in addition to other interests, will indeed realize great welfare, goodness and guidance. Yet, rulers make mistakes, for infallibleness is only attained by messengers (peace be upon them)

( Part No : 9,Page No:96)

regarding what they inform people from Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted), however, we should cooperate with them in what is good and provide them with advice against any potential evil or defect, for this should be the conduct of Mu'minin, and this is what the Messenger (peace be upon him) had ordained us to do, to hear and obey rulers and advise them, as he (peace be upon him) said: Verily Allah likes three things for you and disapproves of three things for you. He is pleased with you that you worship Him and not associate anything with Him, that you hold fast to the rope of Allah, and be not scattered, and that you give advice to the one to whom Allah gives command over you.  And He (peace be upon) says: The Din (Religion of Islam) is sincerity, he repeated it thrice. We said: To whom? He said: To Allah, His Book, His Messenger, to the leaders of Muslims and their common folks  He (peace be upon him) had also said:Whoever observes an act of disobedience to Allah committed by their commander, should abhor this act, but never refrain from obeying him (i.e., the commander)  And when he was asked about rulers who do not fulfill their duties, he (peace be upon him) said: Fulfill the rights upon you and ask Allah for your rights  How much better would it be if those rulers were keen on establishing Al-Haqq and justice, supporting the oppressed and holding back the oppressor as well as ensuring safety and preserving people's lives, Din (religion of Islam), money and honor. If this is the case, we should cooperate with them

( Part No : 9,Page No:97)

in enforcing good and abandoning evil. Moreover, we should persist in recommending and advising each other to truth, so as to restrict evil and spread virtue.

Apart from this, Allah has bestowed upon these countries the call of Imam (leader) shaykh Muhammad ibn `Abdul-Wahhab (may Allah be merciful to him), along with the support of the forebearer of this family Imam Muhammad ibn Su`ud (may Allah be merciful to him) to this call, which had lead to the spread of great benefit, knowledge, Haqq (truth) and guidance, as well as the elimination of Shirk (associating others in worship with Allah) and its means, in addition to the suppression of different forms of corruption, Bida` (innovations in religion) and misleading acts that were quite known to scholars who had been patient with this call, participated in it and supported its advocates.

As a result, these countries became an exemplary model in observing Tawhid (belief in the Oneness of Allah/ monotheism) and devotion to Allah, refraining from Bida`, sins, and means to Shirk until the emergence of the well known Fitnah (trial) because of which, that call was attacked, then Allah brought it all together once more through Imam Turky ibn `Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Su`ud (may Allah be merciful to him), then his son Imam Faisal ibn Turky, then his grandson `Abdullah ibn Faysal ibn Turky, afterwards a took place after the death of Imam `Abdullah ibn Faysal (may Allah be merciful with him), after which Allah brought king `Abdul-`Aziz by whom He had availed all Muslims, reunited them, uplifted the truth, supported the Din, promoted enjoinning good and forbidding evil, in addition to other untold bounties and knowledge which were attained through him, such as establishing justice and standing up for truth as well as spreading Da`wah to Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted). His sons kept this going after him.

( Part No : 9,Page No:98)

Therefore, it is the duty of all Muslims in this kingdom to cooperate with this country and whoever calls to Allah everywhere in reinforcing good, observing Da`wah to Allah, spreading Islam, and calling to Al-Haqq, for this should also be followed by any country calling for implementing Al-Haqq, ruling according to Allah's Shari`ah (Islamic law), and supporting His Din.

However, Saudi Arabia, is a blessed country which Allah has rendered as a source of support to Al-Haqq and Din, and a cause for uniting people, eliminating the reasons of corruption, acheiving security in countries, and a cause for the occurrence of great bounties, yet, it is fallible, imperfect, and surely suffers from defects, therefore, we should cooperate with it to eliminate the deficiency, and amend the faults by consultation, recommending one another to the truth, using good means of communication such as correspondence or visits rather than referring to evil, lies, and transmitting false speeches. However, whoever seeks to clarify and call to the Haqq should act towards eliminating deficiencies by lawful, good means such as recommending and advising each other to truth, for this is the conduct of Muslims and the ruling of Islam, and this is the way for whoever wants the welfare of this Ummah; that is to clarify and call for good and Haqq, as well as cooperating with rulers in amending the deficiencies, and faults. Allah has recommended us to do this in His Saying (may He be Glorified): Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwâ (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Severe in punishment.

He (may He be Glorified) also says:

( Part No : 9,Page No:99)

By Al-‘Asr (the time). For verily, the Din is sincerity, thus it is a necessity to help rulers in declaring and calling to Al-Haqq, as well as deterring and eliminating falsehood, spreading virtuousness and fighting vice by legal means.

Moreover, the citizens should cooperate with rulers, authorities and whoever calls to Al-Haqq to declare it, eliminate mischief and corruption, this is what all Muslims should do by the lawful means prescribed by Allah in His Saying (may He be Glorified): Invite (mankind, O Muhammad peace be upon him) to the Way of your Lord (i.e., Islâm) with wisdom (i.e., with the Divine Revelation and the Qur’ân) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better.  and in His Saying (may He be Glorified): And who is better in speech than he who [says: “My Lord is Allâh (believes in His Oneness),” and then stands firm (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allâh’s (Islâmic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds

In addition to His Saying (may He be Glorified): And argue not with the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), unless it be in (a way) that is better (with good words and in good manner, inviting them to Islâmic Monotheism with His Verses), except with such of them as do wrong  And: And by the Mercy of Allâh, you dealt with them gently. And had you (Muhammad peace be upon him) been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you  And in His Saying (may He be Glorified and Exalted) to Mussa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron) when He sent them to Fir`awn (Pharaoh): And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear (Allâh).

( Part No : 9,Page No:100)

As for what is observed now by some people like Muhammad Al-Mas`ary, Sa`d Al-Faqih and others amongst those who spread corrupt calls, this is undoubtedly a great evil and corruption, therefore, we should beware of their calls, eliminate them and not cooperate with them (people) in anything which leads to corruption, evil, falsehood and Fitnah, for Allah has ordained us to help one another in virtuousness and Taqwa rather than evil, transgression, spreading lies and false claims which cause disunity, and security disorder...etc.

Publications such as those issued by Al-Faqih, Al-Mas`ary or others of those who call to falsehood, evil and disunity should be eliminated, destroyed and disregarded, and those people should be advised, guided to Al-Haqq and warned against this falsehood, it is also impermissible for anyone to cooperate with them in this evil, for they should recover their senses and abandon such false claims. My advice for Al-Mas`ary, Al-Faqih, Ibn Ladin and whoever follows their path is to abandon this noxious way, fear Allah and beware of His Wrath and Punishment. Not only should they do this, but also repent to Allah of their past deeds, and surely He will accept their Tawbah (repentance), since He (may He be Glorified) has promised this to His Servants in addition to being good to them according to His Saying (may He be Glorified): Say: “O ‘Ibâdî (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allâh: verily, Allâh forgives all sins. Truly He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.   And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islâmic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him (in Islâm) before the torment comes upon you, (and) then you will not be helped.  He (may He be Glorified) also says: And all of you beg Allâh to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful  And there are many Ayahs which stress this meaning.

( Part No : 9,Page No:101)

However, what is intended is that it is obligatory for all Muslims to cooperate with rulers in good, guidance and uprightness to achieve welfare, settle security, eliminate injustice, support the oppressed and fulfill their rights, they should also cooperate with judges, Du`ah (callers to Islam) and whoever seeks reform in finding Al-Haqq, calling to it, deterring the oppressive people and establishing the Rulings of Allah, also in enjoining good, forbidding evil and suppressing falsehood. Moreover, people should help each other and advise whoever deviates from Al-Haqq to return to the path of righteousness to achieve goodness and attain public interests, besides eliminating corruption, mischief, evil and disunity with all provided legal means. However, people will continue to attain good as long as they recommend each other to virtue, help one another in virtuousness and Taqwa, but if they help each other in falsehood and transgression, adversities will prevail, security will no longer exist, falsehood will dominate and Al-Haqq will be buried, and this is the aim of the Satans among the humans and Jinn (creatures created from fire). Accordingly, people should beware of what they invite them to do, they should also take all the means to ensure the prevalence of security, virtue and guidance as well as advising each other to cooperate with rulers in whatever is good and helping whoever calls to this, as well as establishing Allah's Rules, supporting Al-Haqq and assisting whoever seeks reform in what refutes and warns against oppression, and forewarning from oppression and the means leading to disunity and disparity.

( Part No : 9,Page No:102)

This is mandatory, as declared by Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted): Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwâ (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Severe in punishment.  And: By Al-‘Asr (the time). In addition to: And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allâh (i.e. this Qur’ân), and be not divided among yourselves  This is the way to salvation, true Iman (faith/belief), righteous deeds and a good end, accordingly, good will prevail, cooperation in virtuousness and Taqwa will be achieved and evil will be refuted, leading all countries to become secure, in a way that restrains the perverse, and returns rights back to their owners.

We ask Allah by His Beautiful and Sublime Names and Attributes to direct everyone to good, grant them the comprehension of the Din, adjust the conditions of all Muslims, protect them and us from the evil of our own souls, misdeeds and from following lusts, as I ask Him to protect us from the straying Fitan (seditions), guide our rulers to what is good, help them in virtue and support Al-Haqq through them, and help them and whoever assists them to profoundly understand the Din, achieve whatever is good, and to guard them against that which contradicts Allah's Shari`ah, and render us of those who guide and are guided.

Finally, I ask Him (may He be Glorified) to set right the conditions of all Muslims everywhere, grant them good understanding of their Din, let the best among them rule over them, and better their leaders, gather Muslims to Al-Haqq and Guidance, He is All-Hearer, Ever Near. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!

Advising to adhere to the Truth

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. The righteous people will ultimately prove successful! May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon His servant and Messenger, the best of His creation who was entrusted with His Revelation, our Prophet and Imam, Muhammad Ibn `Abdullah, his Family, his Companions, and those who follow in his footsteps until the Last Day.

I thank Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) for granting me this opportunity to meet with my fellow brothers, near the House (Ka`bah)to advise one another to adhere to the Truth, exchange advice, cooperate in goodness and patience, and remember Allah and His Rights. I ask Him (may He be Glorified) to bless this meeting and to set right our hearts and deeds, and help us all hold fast to his Religion, and grant us deep understanding of it. We seek refuge from the evil of ourselves, the evil consequences of our deeds, and from the delusive temptations. May Allah (may He be Glorified) support His religion and make His Word supreme. I ask Him also to set right the affairs of all Muslims, grant them the comprehension of the religion, entrust them to pious rulers, and reform their leaders. I ask Him to guide and help our rulers to what is good and to guide their retinue. I ask Him to protect them from the evil retinue and support the Truth through them. May Allah make us among those who are rightly-guided and are guiding others.

( Part No : 9,Page No:46)

My dear fellow brothers,

Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) has created mankind and Jinn to worship Him and sent the messengers for this great mission and revealed the Books for this purpose. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says, And I (Allâh) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone). Allah (may He be Exalted) has created mankind and Jinn, females and males, Arabs and non-Arabs, rich and poor, to worship Him. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says, Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?” This is to refute the claims of whoever thinks so. He (may He be Glorified and Exalted) also says, Does man think that he will be left neglected (without being punished or rewarded for the obligatory duties enjoined by his Lord Allâh on him)? i.e. neglected without being given orders or prohibited from doing some things. He also says, And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose!

Allah (may He be Exalted) has created all creation to worship Him, follow His Commands, avoid His prohibitions, devote all acts of worship to Him, and abide by the limits He sets. They were not created without a purpose. In Surah Al-Zariyart,Allah (may He be Glorified) says,And I (Allâh) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone).  I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures).  Verily, Allâh is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong.

`Ibadah (worship) is to believe in the Oneness of Allah, perform the obligatory acts which He Has enjoined, and abandon the prohibited acts. This is Islam about which Allah (may He be Exalted) says, Truly, the religion with Allâh is Islâm. It is Iman (faith) and

( Part No : 9,Page No:47)

guidance. Allah (may He be Exalted) says, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! Allah (may He be Exalted) also says, O you who believe! Believe in Allâh, and His Messenger (Muhammad peace be upon him)...

This form of `Ibadah is the essence of Iman. Referring to it, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Iman has seventy odd or sixty odd branches, the best is saying: 'La ilaha illallah (There is no god but Allah)', and the least is the removing of harm from the road, and modesty is a branch of Iman." Iman means worshipping Allah, Islam, Al-Huda (guidance), Al-Birr (virtue), and Al-Taqwa (fearing Allah). It means obeying Allah (may He be Exalted) and His Messenger (peace be upon him), believing in the Divine Unity, devoting all acts of wroship to Allah, performing the obligatory acts, abstaining the Prohibitions, and abiding by the Limits that Allah sets. This is the meaning of Islam, Iman, and `Ibadah, Taqwa, Birr, and guidance. Allah (may He be Exalted) says, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! , but Al-Birr (is the quality of the one) who fears Allâh [have Taqwa]. Allah (may He be Praised) says, Verily, Al-Abrâr (the pious believers of Islamic monotheism) will be in Delight (Paradise);

This is the kind of `Ibadah which He has enjoined upon all people and created them for. Allah (may He be Exalted) says, O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allâh), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqûn (the pious). He ordered them to worship Him and for this purpose He created them and sent the messengers (peace be upon them). Allah (may He be Exalted) says, And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allâh (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Tâghût (all false deities i.e. do not worship Tâghût besides Allâh).” Allah (may He be Glorified) also says,Worship Allâh means worship Allah alone

( Part No : 9,Page No:48)

and obey His commands, and avoid At-Tâghût (false deities) means abstain from Shirk (associating others with Allah in His Divinity or worship) and sins.

Allah (may He be Exalted) has sent all the messengers from Nuh (Noah) to Muhammad (peace be upon him) to invite people to the worship of Allah alone, to devote all acts of worship to Him, obey His orders, abstain from His prohibitions, and adhere to the limits set by Him, hope for His reward and fear His punishment. Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Adam (peace be upon him) and his offspring worshipped Allah alone for ten centuries. When Shirk spread among the people of Nuh [Noah], Allah sent Nuh to invite and guide his people to Truth. Allah has narrated their story in many verses. Nuh invited them to worship and obey Allah alone. Allah (may He be Exalted) says, And indeed We sent Nûh (Noah) to his people, and he said: “O my people! Worship Allâh! You have no other Ilâh (God) but Him (Islâmic Monotheism)." They were arrogant and persisted in their falsehood, so Allah (may He be Exalted) punished them by drowning them. Allah (may He be Exalted) says, And indeed, We sent Nûh (Noah) to his people, and he stayed among them a thousand years less fifty years [inviting them to believe in the Oneness of Allâh (Monotheism), and discard the false gods and other deities]; so the Deluge overtook them while they were Zâlimûn (wrong-doers, polytheists, disbelievers).  Then, We saved him and those with him in the ship, and made it (the ship) an Ayâh (a lesson, a warning) for the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn). He invited them to Allah (may He be Exalted) for nine thousand and fifty years. However, they were arrogant and insolent so Allah (may He be Exalted) punished them with the Deluge. It rained heavily and water gushed from the earth until they all drowned except those who were on board of Nuh's Ark.

Those who

( Part No : 9,Page No:49)

did not respond to the messengers including the seal of the prophets our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are perishable here and in the Hereafter. Allah (may He be Exalted) says, Muhammad (peace be upon him) is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allâh and the last (end) of the Prophets. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "There will be no prophet after me" and"I have been sent to all mankind." Allah (may He be Exalted) says, Say (O Muhammad peace be upon him): “O mankind! Verily, I am sent to you all as the Messenger of Allâh and And We have not sent you (O Muhammad peace be upon him) except as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind. Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. It is Wajib (obligatory) upon each Mukallaf (person meeting the conditions to be held legally accountable for their actions); whether Jinn or mankind to obey and follow his (peace be upon him) footsteps. Allah (may He be Exalted) says, Say (O Muhammad peace be upon him to mankind): “If you (really) love Allâh then follow me (i.e. accept Islâmic Monotheism, follow the Qur’ân and the Sunnah), Allâh will love you and forgive you your sins." i.e. Allah is telling the Prophet (peace be upon him) to inform the people to follow him, if they love Allah sincerely, so that Allah would love them.

Whoever loves Allah (may He be Exalted) should follow Muhammad (peace be upon him) by following his orders and avoiding his prohibitions. He should worship Allah alone with devotion, abstain from sins, observe Salah, perform Zakah, fast Ramadan, perform Hajj, be dutiful to one’s parents, maintain the ties of kinship, and enjoin goodness and forbid evil. He should also abstain from Shirk, which is a major sin, Zina (adultery), theft, sodomy, Riba (usury), consuming Khamr (intoxicants), Ghibah (backbiting), Namimah (tale-bearing), ungratefulness to one’s parents, and severing the ties of kinship and so on.

( Part No : 9,Page No:50)

Each Mukalaf; whether man and woman, should worship Allah, obey His commands, refrain from His prohibitions, abide by the limits set by Allah, hope for His reward, and fear His punishment. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says, Say: “Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger (peace be upon him), but if you turn away, he (Messenger Muhammad peace be upon him) is only responsible for the duty placed on him (i.e. to convey Allâh’s Message) and you for that placed on you. If you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance. The Messenger’s duty is only to convey (the message) in a clear way (i.e. to preach in a plain way).” Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says, He who obeys the Messenger (Muhammad peace be upon him), has indeed obeyed Allâh and And let those who oppose the Messenger’s (Muhammad peace be upon him) commandment (i.e. his Sunnah — legal ways— orders, acts of worship, statements, etc.) (among the sects) beware, lest some Fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant) should befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them.

It is obligatory upon each Mukalaf; mankind and Jinn, to worship Allah, fear Him, follow His Commands, abstain from His prohibitions, cooperate in goodness, advise one another, and enjoin goodness. It is Wajib upon men, women, Arabs, non-Arabs, and all people to fear Allah as He should be feared. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says, Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwâ (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Severe in punishment. andBy Al-‘Asr (the time). In Surah Al-`Asr, Allah (may He be Glorified) swears by "Al-`Asr" which refers to time i.e. the day and night. He (may He be Exalted) is free to swear by whatever He likes from His Creatures. In other positions, for example, Allah (may He be Exalted) swears by

( Part No : 9,Page No:51)

Al-Tur (Sinai Mount), Al-Dhariyat (blowing winds), By the star when it goes down (or vanishes).  By the night as it envelops.  By the sun and its brightness.  By the fig, and the olive. etc. Allah swears by whatever He wills of His creatures as this indicates His Greatness and His Exaltedness as that He is the One worthy of worship. People should swear only by Allah. It is not permissible to swear by the Prophet (peace be upon him), honesty, father, or any other creature. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever has to take an oath should swear by Allah or remain silent." (i.e. He should not swear by other than Allah.) He (peace be upon him) also said, "He who swears by anything other than Allah is committing an act of Shirk.'' (Related by Imam Ahmadon the authority of `Umar Ibn Al-Khattab(may Allah be pleased with him) with Sahih (authentic) chain of transmission) It is not permissible for anyone to swear by his father, mother, the Prophet, or anyone else. Whoever has to take an oath, he should swear by Allah alone. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Do not swear by your fathers, or your mothers, or by rivals to Allah; and swear by Allah only when you are speaking the truth."

In this noble Surah, Allah (may He be Exalted) shows that mankind and Jinn are the losers except Except those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth [i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma‘ruf) which Allâh has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar) which Allâh has forbidden], and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allâh’s Cause during preaching His religion of Islâmic Monotheism or Jihâd). Those are the successful who believe in Allah and His Messenger. They believe that Allah is their True Lord, and that He is established on His `Arsh (Allah’s Throne) over the Heavens and above all creatures (may He be Glorified and Exalted). They believe in His establishment over His `Arsh and separated from His Creation. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says, The Most Gracious (Allâh) rose over (Istawâ) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty).

( Part No : 9,Page No:52)

He (may He be Glorified) also says, Indeed, your Lord is Allâh, Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and then He rose over (Istawâ) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and (He created) the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His Command. Surely, His is the Creation and Commandment. Blessed is Allâh, the Lord of the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)! This is our Lord (may He be Glorified and Exalted) to Him belongs the Creation and Command. He is over His `Arsh and His knowledge encompasses everywhere and we make Du`a' to Him and He is the Most High, the Most Great. Allah (may He be Exalted) says, To Him ascend (all) the goodly words, and the righteous deeds exalt it (i.e. the goodly words are not accepted by Allâh unless and until they are followed by good deeds). Allah (may He be Exalted) also says, The angels and the Rûh [Jibrîl (Gabriel)] ascend to Him in a Day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years.

Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) rose over His `Arsh in a manner that befits His Majesty and He is not like His creation at all in any of His attributes. Allah (may He be Glorified) says, There is nothing like Him; and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. Only Allah (may He be Exalted) knows the exact manner of assuming His Attributes. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) is the Most High, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise, the Most Compassionate, the Most Powerful and the Only One worthy of worship. It is Wajib upon us all, men and women, to worship Allah by obeying His Commands, avoiding His prohibitions, and devoting all the acts of worship to Him alone; such as Du`a' (supplication), hoping and seeking His help, making vows to Him, offering Salah, Sujud (prostration), and fasting Ramadan to Him only. Allah (may He be Glorified and Exalted) says, And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. and You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).

( Part No : 9,Page No:53)

He (may He be Glorified) says, And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allâh, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him) and So worship Allâh (Alone) by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allâh’s sake only. Surely the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allâh only. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The right of Allah over His slaves is that they should worship Him and not associate anything with Him." and, "I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, perform Salah and pay Zakah. If they do that, their blood and property are guaranteed protection on my behalf except when justified by law, and their affairs rest with Allah." (Agreed upon by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Answering those who fabricate lies against the scholars
From: ‘Abdul ‘Aziz ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Baz to our noble brother. May Allah guide him to what pleases Him!
Amen!
As-salamu ‘alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh (May Allah’s Peace, Mercy, and Blessings be upon you!)
Your book dated 10/21/1397 A.H., has arrived, and may Allah guide you with His Guidance. I have not actually read your last book that you mentioned; in fact, it was given to your agent before I was able to read it. The manger of my office told me about it and said that it was very long, so I delayed reading it to a suitable time outside the office. But, as you asked for it before that time, I asked them to give it to your agent. I did read what was published in the Kuwaiti newspaper: "Al-Siyasah", which, as you mentioned, alleged that the Dean of the Islamic University of Madinah had deemed as Kafirs (disbeliever) those who said that a man had landed on the surface of the moon or that the earth is round or that it rotates. "Al-Siyasah" quoted this from an explanation that was published by writers and authors from the Progressive National Unionist Party in Egypt. There is no doubt that by the dean of the university they are referring to me, because I am the one who wrote on this subject when the news of the moon landing was broadcast. Also, at that time, I was the dean of the university. There is no doubt, as you say, that there is a group of people who are fabricating lies against the scholars and others. There is also a group of people who report news in a false manner, as you said. The problem with the news is the reporters. Your article, which was published by an
( Part No : 9,Page No:227)
American magazine and part of it quoted in "Al-I‘tisam" magazine, was of the same nature. I have talked to His Majesty King Khalid about this matter, in the presence of some scholars, because the article is dangerous. So I wanted to acquaint him with the situation and would now like to ask you to refute that information as a lie, because the enemies of Allah have lied to you and others. You have to make Tawbah (repentance to Allah) for this and inform all those who have read that article that you have done so. In this way, the matter will end and the truth will be clear. There is nothing strange about this, because if a great Munkar (that which is unacceptable or disapproved of by Islamic law and Muslims of sound intellect) appears, it is obligatory that it should be refuted in public, so that no one will be deceived by it.
In this regard, there is the story of Hatib ibn Abu Balta‘ah, the famous Sahaby (Companion of the Prophet), who was one of the Muhajirun (Emigrants from Makkah to Madinah). He wrote to the Quraysh telling them that the Prophet (peace be upon him) intended to attack them, in the eighth year after the Hijrah (Prophet’s migration to Madinah). Allah informed His Messenger about it, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) sent ‘Aly ibn Abu Talib, Zubayr ibn Al-‘Awam, and Miqdad ibn Al-Aswad (may Allah be pleased with them) to find the woman who was taking the message. He told them that they would find her at Rawdah Khakh. They set off and found her there, and took the message from her. They brought the message back to the Prophet (peace be upon him), who then ordered Hatib to be brought to him. He (peace be upon him) asked him, in the presence of people, why he had written the message, and he gave the answer well-known to you. ‘Umarsaid his famous words when he asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) to permit him to kill Hatib, but the Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, “He witnessed the Battle of Badr.” None of us are infallible; infallibility is only for Allah and His Messengers in what they inform us from their Lord (may He be Praised). A believer is tried and tested by their mistakes and by the lies that are told about them; therefore it is obligatory to refute lies and make Tawbah for things that are said, written, or done by mistake.
( Part No : 9,Page No:228)
I read the refutation you wrote in the "Al-Madinah" newspaper and I ask Allah to guide us and you to understand His Din well and keep us firm on it. I ask Allah to grant us sincerity to Him and His servants in all that we do. I also ask Him to grant us true Tawbah from all sins and negligence, and to correct our hearts and deeds, indeed He is the All-Hearing and Ever-Near.
As for what was published about me in "Al-Siyasah", quoting from the explanation that was published by writers and authors from the Progressive National Unionist Party in Egypt, that I denied man’s landing on the moon and declared those who say this has happened or that the earth is round and rotates to be Kafirs, these are all sheer lies that have no basis in truth. The reporter may not have intended to lie, but he did not confirm the information before publishing it. I have published an article in which I clarified the response to those who deny the landing of men on the moon or declare those who believe in this to be Kafirs. I explained that it is obligatory upon those who have no knowledge to abstain from believing or refuting it until they receive the information that confirms it. I also confirmed the article with some quotes from the scholar Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah be Merciful to him) that give evidence to prove that the earth is round. As for the rotation of the earth, I have denied this and explained the evidence that confirm its falsehood, but I did not declare those who believe that it does to be Kafirs, but I do so for those who say that the sun is static and does not move. This is because saying so contradicts the explicit texts in the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah, which confirm that the sun and the moon run on their courses. I will send you a copy of my three articles on this subject. I will also write an article for "Al-Siyasah" clarifying the falsehood of what the reporter wrote about the four points mentioned above, and I will also publish it in other newspapers, In sha’a-Allah (if Allah wills), to inform readers about
( Part No : 9,Page No:229)
the mistakes and lies of the writers of the aforementioned explanation that was written about me. We ask Allah by His Most Beautiful Names and Attributes to guide us, you, and all our brothers to truly follow Al-Haqq (the Truth) and avoid falsehood, as He is the Most Bountiful and Most Generous.

Assalamu Alaikum,

The attached book is a correction of errors commited by Yusuf Estes on the term Salafi. Very beneficial to all readers inshallah.

PDF is attached on the forum thread - so insha-allah check there please. also here: http://www.4shared.com/file/143412997/3ab3167c/_2__SalafiManhaj_YusufEstes.html

Question: Is it for the student of knowledge to say: This one is an innovator (Mubtadi') and that one is astray or does he leave this to the Ulama? And if he keeps quiet about individuals and says: I am a student of knowledge until I learn and after that I will speak, disparage and appraise when I am an 'Alim?

Being just and taking the middle road is in everything; if there is a need to warn against a Rafidee, a Sufi who worships graves or a destroyed Hizbee (partisan), from the likes of this, this is in my opinion from advice to the Muslims is to clarify the situation of this person therefore clarifying it according to what he knows. For verily some things are clear; the deviance in it is clear, that which the student of knowledge knows and that which the Alim knows that if one asks advice then he is advised.

And if he sees someone who is deceived then he should clarify the situation to him, and this is not from backbiting that is dispraised but rather it is from the things that is lawful, that if he fears for him a Rafidee that will misguide him or a Sufi who worships graves or a Hizbee and those who resemble them from the people of desires then verily it is upon him to advise him with wisdom and say to him: this person has with him so and so may Allah bless you'll.

There are some things that are hidden (to the student of knowledge) and no one speaks of it except that he is from the people of knowledge and he does so with evidences. The Alim himself does not speak except with the truth and evidences and with justice and he doesn't say things about Allah (or his religion) without knowledge, and the student of knowledge also. Matters that he doesn't know he doesn't speak about it. As for matters that are known and are clear and there is a benefit for the Muslims then he speaks about it with evidences according to his ability and knowledge.

As for shutting one's mouth, with you not saying that so and so is astray or anything and verily there is only silence! Then this is what the people of misguidance want! They want that you never speak about the people of innovation ever! I keep quiet only and everyone is a Muslim for the Rawafid are our brothers and the grave worshippers are our brothers and what resembles this; these are from the things that are incorrect. And the student of knowledge speaks with evidences and clarity and wisdom, and beautiful speech and not with stupidity or with hastiness, some of them act foolish and are hasty and bring more harm than good and that stupidity and hastiness should be left off. May Allah bless you all.

Notes: From the most odd of speech I have heard is that even if a person denies Allah's descriptions and curses the likes of Imam Al Bukhari that one cannot declare him a person of innovation unless an 'Alim does so! But as the Shaikh has showed this is a false principle. In addition to this it is a known principle from Abu Hasan Al Ma'ribi and those who follow him. And Allah's help is sought.

Fanaticism to Individuals in Spite of Error

54] Question: Some people, may Allaah guide them, sanctify certain
individuals and fanatically cling to their views. What is your advice
to them?
Answer: It is obligatory to follow the truth whoever it is with, and
not to follow individuals that oppose the truth.
Imaam Ahmad, may Allaah have mercy on him, said: I am amazed by a
people who know the chain of narration (of a hadeeth) and its
authenticity, yet they go by the opinion of Sufyaan.
And Allaah, the Most high, says: So let those who oppose his Command
(i.e. Sunnah) be warned, lest some fitnah (trial) should befall them
or a painful punishment be inflicted on them. [Surah An-Noor: 63]
Ibn Abbaas (radyAllaahu anhu) said: It is imminent that rocks will
descend upon you from the heavens I say Allah said and you say Abu
Bakr and Umar said.

So if this warning and threat is with regard to following the most
virtuous of people after the prophets without proof, then how much
more so for following one who is neither here nor there (i.e. a
nobody), such as those who are not known to have knowledge or virtue
but yet are proficient in rambling speech?

Shaikh Saalih bin Fawzaan Al-Fawzaan
[Al-Ajwibah Al-Mufeedah: pg. 108
(60) Question: What is the ruling on someone who loves a scholar or a
caller and says: I love him very much, I don’t want to hear about
anyone refuting him and I will take his words even if they are in
opposition to the proof because this Shaikh is more aware of the proof
than we are.
Answer: This is ta’asub (fanaticism), which is detested and condemned,
and it is not permissible.

We love the scholars, all praise be to Allaah, and we love the callers
to the way of Allaah. However, if one of them errs in an issue, then
we clarify the truth with regard to this issue, with the evidence. And
this does not detract from the love or status held for the one being
refuted.

Imaam Maalik, may Allaah have mercy on him, said: There is none of us,
except that he can refute or be refuted, except for the one buried in
this gravemeaning Allaah’s Messenger.

So when we refute one of the scholars or one of the noble
personalities, this does not mean that we have a hatred for him or
that we are belittling him. Rather, we are clarifying what is correct.
This is why when one of the scholars saw that one of his colleagues
erred, he said: So and so is our beloved friend, however the truth is
more beloved to us than him. This is the correct way.

And do not understand from the refutation of a scholar in an issue he
erred in to mean that it is a belittling of him or hatred for him. On
the contrary, the scholars have not ceased to refute one other
(throughout history), but in spite of that, they are brothers holding
love for one another.

It is not permissible for us to accept entirely everything an
individual says whether he is correct or wrong because this is
ta’assub (blind fanaticism).

The (only) one whom we can take all of his sayings and not leave off
any of them is Allaah’s Messenger, because he is the conveyer from his
Lord and he does not speak from his own desire. As for those other
than him, then they can err at times and be correct at times. Even if
they are from the most virtuous of people and they are Mujtahids (i.e.
scholars), they can err at times and be correct at times.

There is no one that is protected from error except Allaah’s Messenger.
We must know this. Furthermore, we do not conceal the error out of our
love for such and such individual. Rather it is upon us to expose and
clarify the error. The Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:
The Religion is Sincerity. We said: To who? He (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa
sallam) said: To Allaah, to His Book, to His Messenger, the Muslim
leaders and their common folk.

Clarifying the error falls under Sincerity to everyone. But as for
concealing the error, then this is in opposition to the Sincerity.

Shaykh Yahya Al Hajuri: Principles of takfeer

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Q: What are the principles regarding establishing the proofs in order to declare a person a kaafir, or fasiq, or mubtadi?

A: The proof must be understood.

"in order that the people will not have any argument against you, except for those of them who commit wrong" [Al Baqara: 150]

Thus the ayah is made clearer with His statement:

"And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers, We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination" [An Nisaa:115]

So it is imperative that the proof is understood. If it is not understood then the guidance has not been made clear.

"And We did not send any messenger except (speaking) in the language of his people to state clearly for them" [Ibrahim:4]

Likewise His statement:

"Allah wants to make clear to you (the lawful and the unlawful) and guide you to the (good) practices of those before you" [An Nisaa:26]

And His statement:

"This (Quran) is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded." [Ibrahim:52]

These evidences indicate that the Quran is clear and that the messengers clarified and established the proofs, even if the people didn't understand the proofs that were established. Thus want is made conditional regarding establishment of proofs is conveyance and clarification.

Q: The common person who falls into bidah (innovation in the religion) but doesn't understand the proofs, when does he become a mubtadi (innovator)?

A: Whoever doesn't understand the proofs then upon us is patience with them. As the common people have always been the helpers of those who've preceded them. Consequently you see them aiding anyone who raises his voice. So they aided Mukhtaar ibn Abi Ubayd (he claimed prophecy during the time of the companions), and Ali ibn Fadl Al Qiramati (carrier of the baatiniyyah creed).

The common people are decieved by an abundance of wealth or generosity. The best example of that is Qarun. Allah says:

"So he came out before his people in his adornment. Those who desired the worldly life said, "Oh, would that we had like what was given to Qarun. Indeed, he is one of great fortune." [Al Qasas:79]

So the common people are shown patience and advised especially if they don't understand the evidences nor understand its meanings. So when the proofs have been conveyed, the affair made clear, and the person understands, inspite of that he opposes and persists (upon whatever he's upon) then whoever it may be is consider one who defends falsehood with falsehood. And it is not permissible to defend falsehood.

Allah says: "Indeed We have revealed to you, the Book in truth so you may judge between the people by that which Allah has shown you. And do not be for the deceitful an advocate. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful. And do not argue on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Indeed, Allah loves not one who is a habitually sinful deceiver." [An Nisaa:105-107]

Famous Doubt: Salafee's hate the four Imams and have forsaken the Sunnee madhabs for a new madhab called Wahhabiyyah?

Wednesday, September 23, 2009
Bismillah, Alhamdulillah

From Lecture: "Explanation of the Four Fundamental Principles"
Date: December 5th, 2005

In the Question and Answer session, the Shaykh was asked:

(From the transcription of the English Translation of the lecture):

Question (to Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan): My parents are not upon the correct methodology and Allaah, subhaanahu wa ta 'alaa, has guided me to the Qur'aan and Sunnah upon the methodology of the Sahaabah. But my parents are causing trouble for me, and they claim that all of the scholars in Saudi Arabia are "Wahhaabi" and that the scholars of Saudi Arabia do not consider the scholars of the Four Madhaahib to be legitimate and that they degrade them from their just position. Therefore it is not permissible to take knowledge from the scholars of Saudi Arabia. So how do we refute this shubhah (doubt)?

Answer (from Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan): This is a lie. This is not true. The ulamaa of Saudia Arabia do not make it haraam/prohibited to follow the Four Madhaahib. And they (the madhaahib) are taught in this land.

So the Four Madhaahib are found, and they are taught, and they are learned, so this is baatil (falsehood). This is incorrect. But concerning the fatwa, giving the verdicts and laws, then these are based upon the fiqh al-Hanbalee (the Hanbalee fiqh).

Because this is the madhab of our fatwa here, and it is the madhab of the leaders in this area. And this is not something that is strange. Because every dawlaa, every nation, every country, follows a path. And as long as this madhab that they follow is not contradictory to the Book and the Sunnah, then it is not contradicting, and there is no problem.

As for following all four madhaahib in one area, then this would cause confusion and disputes and splitting. So it is necessary that the fatwa and the manhaj, the methodology, be one and be followed in the same way and that the ways of teaching and learning are all in one way.

And the four madhaahib are studied for the benefit. And the benefit of them is knowing the proofs that they come with and taking the best opinion from between them.

And we take with the strongest saying, the raajih, even if it is in opposition to the madhab al-Hanbalee. And this is what our mashaykh from before have done.

Because what is important here is that we find the haqq. That we find the truth and that we follow it. So if we find the truth with any of one of the other four madhaahib then we take it, and we follow it.

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

This is a list of some of those refuted by shaykh Yahya Al Hajuri and the reasons why he refuted them.

1: Amr Khalid: A hizbi, deviate, one who is misguided and misguides others. He (Amr) said: "Shaytaan did not disbelieve." He also said: "Al Quds is erected on the temple of the Jews." He means by that, that Al Quds is their property. In Addition he said about the hadith "I haven't seen more deficient in intellect and din...." to the rest of what is ascribed to the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salaam, "the Prophet was just joking with the women." So what's intended by this is that the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salaam spoke upon desire.

Furthermore he propagates convergence between Islaam and Christianity. Also he prepared his doctorate with the kuffaar in britain and it's subject was the relationship between the religion of Islaam and other religions. He lectures men and women in mixed settings and whenever he calls a woman to speak he says "come my darling or my love." The tape with that on it is with us.

He also has a book about the love of Allah, in it he considers the Messenger of Allah, Ibrahim, and Musa passionately in love -with their woman folk- ( the word used in arabic has a negative connotation it refers to some one who is so in love with a woman that she's able to manipulate and walk all over him). Thus he said about are Prophet Muhammad "He insanely loved Khadijah and Ibrahim insanely loved...." Also he said "Musa insanely loved the daughter of the man he was indebted to." Also he calls the women listeners and youthful men in his lectures to this type of delusional love.

Also he has the lifemakers organization in which he swindles money from gullible men and women in order to buy homes and property in Britain and in other places, may Allah fight him.

2: Abdul Majeed Az Zindaani: Very misguided. He propagates loving the kuffaar and purifying the souls from hatred for them.

3: Hifdhullah Al Adeeni: A blazing hizbi, a follower of desires.

4: Abul Hasan Al Misri (Al Ma'rabi): Hizbi, originator of vast fitna, and his followers those who've been tried (by him) are the most severe in opposing the truth. He's been nicknamed the maid of the hizbis.

5: Ahmad ibn Mansur: Hizbi, destroyed after his induction to hizbiyyah. Abul Hasan (Al Misri) swept him away with doubts and dinaar.

6: Abdur Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq: This hizbi is from the major hizbis. He was a participate of Ihyat Turath, and corrupted a lot of people.

7: Muhammad Al Mahdi: A fabricator amongst fabricators. The shaykh (Muqbil ibn Hadi) insulted and spoke ill of him.

8: Aqeel Al Maqtari: A hizbi. Ruined by Al Hikmah Charity Organization, now he's one of it's beggars.

9: Muhammad Ismaa'il Al Imraani: This father and senior, after becoming old in age the hizbis influenced and entered him into their hizbiyyah. Thus he's from them. The shaykh (Muqbil) also said this about him, likewise he has traces of zaydiyyah with him.

10: Ibn Jibreen: Hizbi, with the Ikwaanil Muslimeen like our shaykh al allaamah Al Waadi'ee clarified.

11: Ali Al Aruuqi: Hizbi since the time of the shaykh until now.

12: Muhammad ibn Raajih: Hizbi, now he's with Muhammad Al Mahdi and the Ikwaanil Muslimeen.

13: Ali Abdul Khaaliq Al Qarni: Hizbi.

14: Aa'idh Al Qarni: Hizbi, with the Ikhwaanil Muslimeen.

15: Abdullah Al Haashidi: Hizbi at Jaamiatil Imaan. He teaches with hizbis, and has articles in some magazines in which he defames Ahlis Sunnah. Also he flatters the hizbis by saying they're people of strong argumentation.

16: Abu Ubaaydah Ar Raawi: A hateful hizbi

17: Jamil As Sabri (who's in Taiz): A hizbi following worldly interests.

18: Yusuf Al Qardaawi: From the heads of hizbiyyah and from the most evilest of them against Islaam.

19: Muhaamad Husayn Ya'quub: He says "I love all of you!" He loves humanity, everyone, even the most deviate from amongst them. I was informed that he's with Ihyaat Turaath Charity Organization.

20: Abdullan ibn Ghalib: Hizbi. The shaykh refuted him.

21: Ibrahim Al Utaymi: Hizbi.

22: Abu Haatim Al Faadhili Al Audi: Abul Hasan ruined him thus he's become like a door mat for him (meaning he's being walked over).

23: Al Maghraawi: Qutubi, takfeeri.

24: Mustapha Al Adawi: He says" Ikhwaanil Muslimeen stand in defense (of Islaam)" like Muhammad Hameed witnessed. And this statement is incorrect. What is correct is that Ikhwaanil Muslimeen have placed in Islaam a rift due to their hizbiyyah and harshness towards Ahlis Sunnah.

And some of them, with their lack of importance to Tawheed, and blind following of the kuffaar, do this upon knowledge. Thus they haven't blocked any rifts (in defense of Islaam). Consequently Abul Aynayn wrote 2 dissertations on Mustapha Al Adawi. A clarification of his statements regarding the major scholars of Ahlis Sunnah.

Lastly; whenever he meets adherents to Al Hikmah Charity Organization in Saudi he's comfortable with them. Likewise he's affiliated with them and he shuns his brothers from Ahlis Sunnah, thus birds of a feather flock together.

25: Usamah Al Qoosi: A follower from the followers of Abul Hasan. Severe in his fanaticism for him. After he became hizbi a tape emanated from him and on it is clear lies that the camp of shaykh Muqbil has ended with his death. Also on it is deceitfulness to the people there (in Egypt).

He urges them with studying at Azhar, and indeed, he knows nonrighteous people graduate from Azhar. Those who's creed are ashari, their sinfulness is clear, and they're ignorant to the correct dawah.

26: Saeed ibn Musfir: A well known hizbi, a fanatic follower of Ahmad Al Muallim just like the shaykh informed us.

27: Audh Al Qarni: From the callers of the Ikhwaanil Muslimeen.

28: Tariq As Suwaidaan: A filthy raafidhi, hizbi, follower of the Ikhwaanil Muslimeen. And they boast this and promote his misguidance which is found on his tapes (that are distributed) to the people. And from his statements "If you want to insult Abu Huraira then insult him privately."

29: Muhammad Suroor Zain Al Aabideen: He's a major hizbi, the originator of the Surooriyyah ideology.

30: Abdul Majeed Ar Raymi: The shaykh said "As for Ar Raymi then he's like the deaf dog." (meaning) He sees the dogs barking, so he barks like them although he doesnt know why.

31: Muhammad Subhi Hasan Hallaaq: A member of the Ikhwaanil Muslimeen.

32: At Turaabi: Infidel, a number of scholars declared him to be a disbeliever.

33: Abdullah Sabt: Hizbi, a number of scholars spoke ill of him and from them our shaykh.

34: Adnaan Aroor: Qutubi, indeed shaykh Rabee already clarified his situation.

35: Muhammad ibn Saalih Al Munajjid: Our shaykh said he's suroori.

36: Abu Ishaaq Al Huwaini: We were informed that he's with Ihyaat Turaath (charity organization).

37: Faalih ibn Naafi Al Harbi: The one who's infatuated with extremism, haphazardness, and little to no fairness. He was insolent enough to make defamation of ash shaykh al allaamah Muqbil ibn Haadi Al Waadi'ee and included other than him from the ulamaa (in his insults and defamation) those in which Faalih isn't equivalent to one of their (small) students with regards to benefit.

Bid’ah: Shaykh Abdul Muhsin al Abbaad, may Allah preserve him,

Qooes one cooperate with the islaamic groups of the ikwaan al
Muslimeen and Jama’tu at tableeg and gives lectures where they are
located (in their Mosques)?

The Shaykh Abdul Muhsin al Abbaad answered by saying: No he does not
give lectures where they are located, nor does he teach there for
indeed they will not benefit from his lectures and his duroos rather
they are only going to use him as a means to execute their
goals (Their desires).

Also I have heard many times from Shaykh Yahya alHajooree, may Allah
preserve him, saying that it is not permissible to give lectures in the
mosques of the people of innovation except in one scenario ,where
there is no mosques found for people of the Sunnah .

Ash-Sheikh Dr. Rabee’ bin Hadee Al-Madkhalee, lion of the Sunnah, said as he addressed the Muslim youth, who are upon the understanding of the pious predecessors:
“Oh Muslim Youth, prepare yourselves to be inheritors of the Prophets, and the Prophets, Peace be upon, didn’t leave anything as inheritance except knowledge, so whoever grabs hold of it, has attained a large fortune. And this knowledge, its greatest aim is to call to Allah, the Most High, and to rectify the creed of mankind, which will lead to the rectification of their worldly life. There has not be a prophet, except that they faced endless corruption from their communities, and from this corruption is the corruption in Aqeedah.  So what did these Prophets, Peace be upon them,  begin their call with? They did not begin with economic, political, or communal rectification, as they call it. Rather, they began with purifying the belief. If the people’s creed is rectified, than everything will immediately follow, from economic, political, and societal issues. And say what you will, if the people’s aqeedah is not purified, then the people will not be rectified, wherever they may be, because they don’t have a foundation, and if the foundation is missing, then everything else branching from that will be wasted. As for the foundation, it is Al-Aqeedah, the correct belief. All of these actions, are connected with Al-Aqeedah, and follow it. So if the basic belief system is missing, how will we be able to rectify any other realm? This is a reality that anyone of intellect, who seeks rectification, happiness, and good for the ummah, has to be aware of. This is the correct methodology in rectifying the society and anything else. There is no doubt that many factors have come across the ummah which have corrupted many people’s outlooks, beliefs, and methodologies, and are in need of taking lessons from the likes of Ibn Taymiyyah, not from so and so, in order to rectify the ummah and return the muslims to what the Noble Messenger, sallahu alahi wa salaam, and his Companions were upon, may Allah be pleased with all of them, in affairs of belief, methodology, and mannerisms. And all of this will follow if the belief and methodology is correct.”
