few days ago, someone told me some so called shaykh was saying that Islamic University of Madinah is nothing and that some university in South Africa is something, it bothered me so much and i don't stay quiet but i replied right back.
Even after that i could not help but wander HOW CAN ANYONE ever say such a thing, it is the Madinah, the place from which Islam first spread out and the place to which Islam will return to, and i was recalling this hadith again as i was doing some task at noon today. I think before i went to do the task i was doing, i read this little Pamphlet's title but not fully but i just saw that it was about Madinah, so i was thinking of coming back from the task and finish reading it.
Alhamdulillah for the blessings of Allah that Allah has enabled me to learn this language Arabic and He made me enough fluent at it to be able read this lecture's pamphlet and benefit a great deal from it.
When i came back and read the title, i was very amazed with it, alhamdulillah, it says: Did You Forget that you are in Madinah..?
So i started reading it, and alhamdulillah shaykh started by saying that more than 20 years ago when he was a student at ISlamic University of Madinah, he heard this beautiful lecture and he was stating the same lecture of the students of the University as a reminder as it is a GREAT REMINDER that will increase them in good and guide them to be thankful to Allah.
Alhamdulillah, it is an amazing lecture, and it had such a great reminder for everyone who are in Madinah and to those students who are studying in Madinah, and in Madinah University, and those who seeks to go to Madinah University and it is also a reminder to those who either out of their hate and or ignorance utter what they utter.
Madinah, it is the city of Messenger of Allah, it is the place from which Islam spread out and it is the place to which Islam will return to, and this madinah has so many virtues that you can find in many authentic narrations and there are virtues of living in Madinah.
and shaykh reminded the students saying, this is his advice to them, that they reminder themselves saying, "Did You Forget that you are in Madinah..?" as it will help them focus on their study and increase them in good in many ways.
shaykh says to the students think about your friends who you grew up, where are they, what they are upon, etc and then shaykh said, Allah picked you from all those friends of your [and brought you to madinah] and Allah blessed you with this great blessing. so they should thank Allah for the blessings of Allah.

and this reminds me of the blessings of Allah upon me, where are my friends 10 years has gone, who knows where are those my dear friends of childhood that i grew up, i love them much and they loved me much, and there were people i knew in last few years - where are they?
Indeed despite all my shortcomings alhamdulillah Allah has blessed me with many blessings that i cannot count down.
May Allah make us rightly guided and rightly guiding and forgive us for our sins and shortcomings and make us thankful servants of His. Ameen.
