"Not Falling Into The Same Hole Twice..."

Imaam al-Bukhaaree rahimahullaahu ta'aalaamentioned in his saheeh from Qutaybah who narrated to us from al-Layth from 'Aqeel who narrated from az-Zuhree from Ibn Musayyib on the authority of Abee Hurayrah radhiyallaahu ta'aalaa 'anhu that the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam said, 

"Laa yuldaghu al-Mu'minu min Juhrin waahidin marratain

The Believer is not stung or bitten twice (by something) out of one and the same hole." [al-Bukhaaree (no.2475) & Muslim (no. 57).]

So this hadeeth makes it clear to us that if a believer Muslim faces a loss from someone or at a particualr place, they should be very cautious from being fooled, tricked and deceived over and over again.

We also see the jawaam (comprehensive) and metaphorical speech of the Messenger of Allaahsallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam as he informs us that this is from the fitrah (natural disposition) and khaslah(special charateristic) of a true believer for which he or she is known by, from the negational phrase -"Laa yuldaghul-Mu'min..."

-Meaning that it is not from the normal qualities of a believer and the opposite for the opposite, but it is also a reminder and encouragement for the negligent and foolish one.

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam, the one who doesn't speak from his own desires, but rather it is revelation revealed to him, would always makeiftiraaq, or furqaan (distinctions) and tasaanif(classifications and categorizations) in various issues of the Deen, giving clarity to the Sahaabah and the whole of the Ummah, those who came after them.

He sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam would say,

"The two signs of kufr (disbelief) are such and such..."

"The three or four characteristics of a munaafiqare..."

"The examples of a believer, hypocrite, and thekaafir are such and such..."

"The example of a Muslim is like a palm tree..."

"Eemaan consist of more than seventy or sixty odd shu'bah (branches) from them are..."

"Whoever possesses these three (qualities) will taste the halaawah (sweetness) of Eemaan..."

"The Aayah (sign) of Eemaan is... and theAayah of Nifaaq (hypocrisy) is..."

 

And 'Ubaadah bin As-Saamit radhiyallaahu ta'aalaa 'anhu said that the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam said,

"Ru'yaa al-Mu'mini juz'un min Sittatin wa 'Arba'eena juz'aan minan-Nuboowwah

A (good) dream of a Believer is a part of forty-six parts of An-Naboowwah (Prophethood)." [al-Bukhaaree (no. 6987), & Muslim (no. 2264).]

And Ibn 'Umar radhiyallaahu ta'aalaa 'anhu said that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam said,

"Ar-Ru'ayaa as-Saalihah, juz'un min Sab'eena juz'aan min-Naboowwah

The true dream (of the Believer) is from the seventieth part of Prophethood." [Muslim (no. 2265).]

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam also said,"'Ittaqoo Firaasah al-Mu'min fa'innahu yandhuru biNoorillaah thumma Qara'a Inna fee dhaalika laAyataan lil-Mu'mineen

Beware of the Firaasah (insight) of the believer, because he or she sees and looks at things with the Light of Allaah."

Then he sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam recited: "Surely, in this are signs for those who reflect upon events." [Sooratul-Hijr (15:75.) and this hadeeth is reported by at-Tirmidhee (no.3127).]

And Mu'aawiyyah radhiyallaahu ta'aalaa 'anhu said,"Laa Hakeema 'ilaa Dhoo Tajribatin No one can be wise except the one with experience."

Therefore, a believer should be on the alert and benefit by his or her experience to avoid faults in the future and is not decieved twice. The true nature of a Believer is one of complete Eemaan, Hikmah(wisdom) and Firaasah (pure insight). Whoever is deficient with regard to these, would be considered as a clumsy-foolish person, very easy to belittle and humiliate. And it would become apparent that this person really is deficient in intellect, understanding, actions and Deen as a whole.

Baarakallaahu feekum Ayyuhal-'Ikhwah wa 'Akhawaat!!!
